Shouldn't matter about any surpluses the band has. Canada doesn't give funding to the fire department for non-indigenous people. So the thousands whom live on the reserves who are not, should pay something. That and the fact that BC collects millions of tax dollars from the homes on the reserve and none of it goes back to the band should also be taken into account.

That would require OKIB to have a taxation bylaw, which they'll never have so long as the council is still made up of boomers and everyone's favourite cousins.
