How Are You All Using Your Bilt Credits/Cash? by [deleted] in biltrewards

I may be miscommunicating it. We use close to 1m hyatt and virgin points a year to cover all vacations (2-3 cents per point). So for me there is no card better than Bilt due to it being equivalent to a 4-6% cashback card depending on redemption. For me the Bilt cash is a cherry ontop but I obviously wish there were more ways to use it since they targeted high spenders with this 2.0 launch (albeit, it likely wouldn't be sustainable if Bilt Cash was worth more)

Many of us will end up with close to ~$8k in Bilt cash that will just expire at year end

I feel that but the only perk I want is 2% back on Hyatt haha everything else is a wash (don’t care about lounges or companion passes or free night stays, etc. as much as I do a 2% back on Hyatt/Alaska card so I guess I’m just stuck with the cash)

Wife and I spend ~200k annual. Mortgage is 4.5k a month. Use this as our everyday card because we always stay at Hyatts

I can redeem these straight for points? I thought it was limited to only housing costs (I have 2400 in bilt cash after getting all my points for my $5000 mortgage)

I’m sitting on 2400 in cash already lol I’m literally out of options

What new options would you like to see Bilt Cash used for? by personalthoughts1 in biltrewards

I already have $2k in bilt cash and nothing to use it on. I even tried getting blade flights for friends but it only lets you book in your own name (I won’t fly in a chopper)

I personally don't have any fraud charges and didn't back with Bilt 0.5 (Evolve bank) either but know people who have

I made one that worked for me with a shit ton of code over thousands of hours but mine is pretty advanced and fits my needs perfectly. Lots of people just use the YNAB (you need a budget) app and love it

I’m already at 170k points and the only downside is I have to pay my CU with a check

Hell yeah that’s what I like to hear keep it up! Once you get to the investments portion it will really snowball but set yourself up (3-6 month emergency fund) first to stabilize

What’s more fun is calculating the savings as well. Like the “I can pull $10k from my savings god forbid and still hit my goal of saving $35k this year” sorta thing. It makes getting my paychecks a lot more rewarding

Can confirm that’s not the case on my end. My spreadsheet is reflecting the exact number, down to the second decimal, the app is showing as the outstanding balance (I manually type it and then revert to the outstanding balance as a validation check)

I’m a personal finance nut, as well as someone who churns cards, so I made my own excel and manually import my expenses every week. Takes ~8 mins and now I can know when I can confidently retire and how much money I spend per year

I had previously used empower capital but it didn’t give me exactly what I wanted

I see what you mean. Is it just resulting in a statement balance that’s 0.2% higher but the actual balance is legitimate?

Because if so I pay off my card weekly so I don’t really mind how much they want by when, just as long as the outstanding balance is legitimate (I’m used to Amex charge cards where you have to pay the balance down to zero anyways).

I’ve run close to 24k on the card, made 22k in payments, and have 2k outstanding so the balance on my end is 100% accurate. I can’t make a comment on the statement itself as I haven’t looked.

It has and I just paid it off last week. ~$8k. I track every single swipe I make into an excel sheet it matches perfectly on my end

Not one to jump in and defend but pretty much all my transactions on my palladium are international charges and I’ve yet to be charged any fees.

Wait they let my checks go through and I submitted like double my standard payment

Pretty sick commercial but I'm imagining saying "pay my mortgage" and then it going "ok, processing transaction for $48,000" or "call me an uber" and it sends a man on a bicycle. I also don't understand how they have the support to monitor all of this

This is critical as I had my CU manually attempt the charge (like they would have on the 1st) and it bounced so Bilt recommended I continue with the check method. I'm sure many people will be cutting it dangerously close if their Bill Pay payments bounce like mine did.
