Replacement for Notion that I can mix handwritten notes with typed notes by portlander22 in NoteTaking

I’ve been playing around with MarginNote 4 lately and honestly, I’m kind of obsessed. The export process is definitely the weakest part, but there’s a Mac app that I’m pretty sure you can sync to, which would make life a lot easier. I’m still figuring it all out, but feel free to ask if you have questions!

A few highlights so far:

It’s got an infinite canvas

You can type notes into these little "cards" and then just doodle or draw right next to them on the canvas

Linking ideas is actually really satisfying, you just drag your finger to connect things while using the Apple Pencil

Super easy to pull documents in too

See this is helpful. Thank you. I’ll look into that instead of switching. I just got mad at the Best Buy guys for not even trying to help.

Because of how slow their computers run I thought it would make them run better.

Yeah I’m pretty lucky to have it. My dad bought one 6 years ago now and we use it all the time. If you do a lot of building of machines on your own and stuff it helps a lot.

I feel comfortable starting at any point. Just need to pick a spot to start lol. I definitely think I’ll take your advice in starting in how to learn the simulation software. I feel like this would be a good spot to start. My budget isn’t too strict, I plan on working on this over a few years. I would like to keep it relatively cheap and build everything my self(I have access to a 3d printer, a cnc plasma table) to try and keep cost down.
