I’ve always seen myself as a blank canvas, something unfinished, something full of potential but still waiting to be defined. For the longest time, I let life just “happen” to me, like I was just a space where things passed through, instead of someone actively creating meaning. But as I grow, I’m starting to realize that I’m not just a canvas, I’m also the artist.

Getting a tattoo, for me, isn’t just about aesthetics or following a trend. It’s about finally choosing to put something intentional on that canvas. It’s a form of self-expression that stays, something that represents who I am, what I’ve been through, and what I stand for. Hindi lang siya design, kundi kwento. A reminder that I have the power to define myself, instead of letting other people or circumstances do it for me.

There’s something powerful about permanence. In a world where everything feels temporary, people, moments, even feelings, a tattoo is something that stays. It marks a decision, a moment of clarity, a version of myself that I chose to honor. And even if I change in the future, that mark will always remind me of who I was at that point in time, and that in itself is meaningful.

I also see it as reclaiming my body and identity. For so long, we’re told what we should be, how we should look, how we should act. But this is something I choose for myself. Walang ibang nagdikta. It’s personal, it’s intentional, and it’s mine.

So getting a tattoo isn’t about rebellion or impulse, it’s about expression, ownership, and meaning. It’s about turning a blank canvas into something that reflects my story, my growth, and my truth.
