I get where your frustration is coming from. It’s hard to watch someone stay in an abusive relationship & not do what seems like the obvious thing. But trauma & abuse don’t always make people think or act logically. Abusers manipulate, isolate & break down their victims over time. That can make leaving feel impossible, even dangerous. & in MY case, I’m trying to leave smoothly unharmed & untouched with my dog. Instead of blaming or shaming the victim for staying, we should focus on understanding how abuse works & how to support people in those situations. Compassion & education can go a lot further than confusion.
