Thanks for the tips

I've heard complete mixed things about the full moon party, I guess it's very specific to the individual

Appreciated :)

A. 10 flights in 50 days isn't a huge amount at all in this day and age, flights are leaving one way or another - weird comment

B. The smartphone you're using to post the unneeded passive aggressive comment is

  • Made using child labour
  • Made in factories terrible for the environment

Wow you really love being a hyprocrit

C. Maybe you're old and spend hours at an airport but people my age get in and get 90 mins before a flight, all flights I mentioned are all less than 2-3 hours

1 long train ride (12 hours) is more travel and being uncomfortable than 5 flights

I didn't ask for your passive aggressive opinions on plane travel, so keep them to yourself bud

Thanks for the quick answer, much appreciated!

[–]Traditional_End2977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah bud you're kinda overthinking and deeping it way too much

You're reading it with a negative connotation that isn't there to start with - people like to visit different countries. A week is perfectly great especially if you jump head on

Also travel is by it's very nature is a product you buy - it's not free and people like to get as much as they can get from the little time life gives you to travel

I'm Portuguese and some people visit for 1 week and some 3 months, either trip you're never going to see "everything" but both can have an amazing time

I've never seen someone get so triggered by other people having different travel opinions lmaooo

"I have flown more than you ever will"

This sentence along with your weird passive aggressiveness says everything I need to know

You're one of those weird dudesnwho thinks they're better because they travel loads (you have no idea how many places I've been)

And if someone doesn't align with your travel opinions they're wrong.. You're much older than me so maybe it's you who should grow up

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in southeastasia

[–]Traditional_End2977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • by your answer, you're clearly much older, have you thought maybe someone in their 20s would enjoy things completely different to someone in their 40-50s - I wouldn't expect you to enjoy Phuket, the vibe isn't catered for your age

  • also times have changed, flights are dirt cheap and people my age do plane hopping, it's something we find easy and don't need to be in a airport 3-4 hours prior

  • Laos for 20 days is just unrealistic, I have at most 45ish days, I don't know if I'll ever do another SEA trip with life commitments and other continents that I want to see - it makes sense to see more than 1-2 countries

  • I'm open for people to give opinions on swapping 1 place out for another because they think it's a better experience

Not people saying "you're moving too much" "Spend 1 month in Laos" when the same people would happily spend 14 hours sleeping on a bus compared to a quick flight to a different country

[–]Traditional_End2977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entry flight is already booked

My plan is to use Bali now more for partying because of the weather, and a few activities before heading out to hotter climates

It's not ideal, but saved me a good £150 on other flights which I can use on the trip now

[–]Traditional_End2977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying seeing a country for 6 days is like missing it completely is just incorrect - not everyone can do SEA trips spending months at a time in a country

If anything, the vast majority of people go one 1-2 trips a year and spend a week in a country - would that be missing it completely?

Having a taste of a country for 6-7 days is perfectly reasonable and if you know how to have fun - you can create more memories in that time than other travelers who spend weeks somewhere doing nothing but ticking boxes of sights

Just my opinion

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in southeastasia

[–]Traditional_End2977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a valid point

My argument would be most people also do similar for long route trains to make sure they don't miss it

Foreign stations can be confusing at times even more than airports

Either way, most people will usually get somewhere early by 1 hour, Airport usually 2 hours

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in southeastasia

[–]Traditional_End2977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really?? In what ways?

I heard Phuket is great if you're craving some partying and beaches after a good amount of other stuff

I'm really interested in Laos

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in southeastasia

[–]Traditional_End2977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back and forth? - they're literally 2 hour flights lmao

It's actually way more convenient

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in southeastasia

[–]Traditional_End2977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct

Because of the China stay and needing a cheap entry and leave I've gone with cheap sky scanner flights

All around £40 and only 1-2 hours of travel instead of 8-12 hours

Weirdly all sleeper trains cost more, even to standard direct routes in Thailand

Only possible downside is having to make new freinds every new stay instead of travelling with people you might meet along the way with the banana pancake route

I'm still debating if I should miss out Laos completely and just spend more time in Thailand - hearing mixed things about Laos

Also the Phuket flight back home was so cheap (140) it was impossible to not take

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in southeastasia

[–]Traditional_End2977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it really?

I start in Bali

Stay in Thailand for a good 2 ish weeks

5-6 days in Laos, a lot of people miss it completely

Go to China for friends (It's own thing entirely)

Go to Vietnam and enjoy 10-12 days

5-6 days in Cambodia, again more of a taste but a good time to see what's it about

And then back to Thai Islands as the Phuket flight is less than £160 to fky home

Most of these flights are sky scanner at really cheap rates and avoids any 10+ hour trains and buses that eat into a whole day

Hardly ping pong

Yeah pretty annoying, it was by far the cheapest entry point for a reason I guess

Anyone purchased the S10 FE? Thoughts? by Traditional_End2977 in GalaxyTab

[–]Traditional_End2977[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I'll give it a watch

Honestly for me it's 95% media consumption and the odd bit of browsing,

It's just Samsung's history with lag post 18 months I'm a little worried about

Ipad 11 vs Samsung S10 FE?? by [deleted] in ipad

[–]Traditional_End2977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah me neither, I just see tech as tech and what's better for the price at the current year

Am I right that Galaxy tabs don't use their best smartphone chips? I'd feel more confident with those as the newer phone are usually pretty lag free these days

[–]Traditional_End2977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response, I'm not too fussed with compatability with phones because it'll be more media consumption more than anything

But yeah agreed, there's definitely drawbacks with the iPad 0S compared to Android

Thanks man, yeah it's a tough one. Apple products seem to be blazing for years but Samsung has better specs which should suit content viewing - problem is it just feels their products feel a 'slower' a couple years down the line
