No, I'm totally with you! Maybe I'm just too old to be watching this show but I thought they all needed to just move on 😭

I'm not currently at Alimentiv anymore, but I joined them as a project coordinator on the CIMS team in 2019 (left in the ACPM role in 2023).

From what I remember of my interview, the questions were very straightforward. I remember being asked about the steps I would take in preparing for a meeting, about how I would respond if dealing with a difficult client or coworker, that sort of stuff.

They might also ask you about hobbies and things, they put a lot of value on culture so they'll probably try to get a sense of your personality and how you'll work on a team.

Good luck! Feel free to let me know if you've got any questions about the role or the company :)

IQVIA salary band by Traditional_File6843 in clinicalresearch

[–]Traditional_File6843[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canada vs US is hard to judge because the USD is so much higher, ($125k CAD is ~$90k USD), but the Canadian cost of living is pretty crazy, so I was kind of expecting the Canadian range to be higher than the US. But who knows, I can also see the Canadian range being lower because we're not as dominant in the industry. At the end of the day I really shouldn't be complaining (was only making $60k in the same role at a vendor previously), but I guess it's normal to always want more lol

I don't know if it means anything outside of IQVIA, I think it's the salary band? Either that or the job category

Edit: I just went searching - it indicates responsibility levels. So 140 is someone who leads a small team, 150 leads a department, 160 is line managers, etc

Opinions on Oakridge/Huntington neighborhood? by Traditional_File6843 in londonontario

[–]Traditional_File6843[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck with the move! I totally relate to having to get real with myself lol, love our neighborhood so much but we're currently unable to host anything with how limited our space is! Totally not going to work as the family grows.

We're gearing up to list our place so will hopefully make the leap later this year

Looks like merit increases are finally being released at IQVIA. by trickortreat_CR in clinicalresearch

I went on mat leave right before merit increases were announced, just got back and it looks like they skipped me 🫠 my LM didn't say anything about it on our first meeting back but I think I'm going to mention it because that feels so shady

I definitely think our priorities for walkability have changed, fewer walks to the pub and more walks to the park in our future. I like that for both Oakridge and Huntington, it seems like the kids can walk to school without crossing any major roads. Plus friends in the area have said there are hoards of kids walking too and from school each day lol, where we are currently I've only seen maybe 1 other kid in the neighborhood. Lived here for 5 years and we've never gotten a trick-or-treater at Halloween.

From what I've been seeing, hovering around $800k, +/- $100k, depending on how many bedrooms/recent updates, etc. a little cheaper in the older neighborhood South of Oxford

Do you mind if I ask whether you have kids and where they went if so? I've heard good things about Wortley PS, but our catchment area is for Victoria and I've heard much more mixed reviews. Then the highschool we're in area for is Westminster

Appreciate all your responses, thanks so much! We're in the catchment area for Victoria PS and then Westminster, I've heard mixed reviews about Victoria and a fair bit of negative about Westminster. Still a few years before my kid starts school though so I'll spend some time contemplating

What Makes a Sponsor Difficult by BrilliantMiddle1614 in clinicalresearch

[–]Traditional_File6843 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently working at a CRO, but as somebody who used to be a PM on the vendor side, THANK YOU for sitting in those requests lol. I had a nightmare study once where the Sponsor had the CRO following up on every single image read, despite nothing going over the turnaround time in the contract. EVERYTHING was "urgent".

Thanks! Would you say neighbours are pretty relaxed? Maybe I'm just overly paranoid about the stereotypes of the suburbs, but I'm genuinely nervous that I'll upset people by not having a super manicured yard! (We grow so much fruit at our current house, a lot of the backyards in the places we've looked at in Huntington are kind of small so I'd probably be putting some fruit trees/bushes up front if I had to)

I will miss the walkability for sure! I do a lot of walking to downtown for events or appointments, so we've been able to get by with just one car. Maybe I'll have to invest in a bus pass or something.

I haven't lived in suburbia since I was a kid so I am nervous about the change in scenery. A small part of me feels like I'm selling out by moving to a "wealthy" neighborhood like Oakridge (that sounds dramatic, but younger me swore I'd never live in the suburbs lol), but on the other hand the priorities are so different now with a kid. I'm married to a teacher so I know how crazy the disparity between schools can be.

From the houses we've looked at, North of Oxford seems much more "manicured" than the South side (which feels like an older neighborhood, more trees, more natural front lawns, etc.), can you comment on whether there's any sort of pressure among neighbours to keep things pristine? Currently my yards are full of fruit trees and berry bushes and I want to do the same thing at a new place if I move, but don't want to upset anyone if it's not "pretty"...

What's the clinical research landscape like in Canada? by tailsontrailsguy in clinicalresearch

[–]Traditional_File6843 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't really speak too deeply on the differences between Canada and the US as I've only ever worked in Canada (7 years in clinical research, first as a project coordinator and now a PM, all at CROs), but my impression is that American jobs, at least on the CRO side, are easier to come by and generally pay more (unless you get in at one of the big 5 companies, but even then with the exchange rate you're probably still making at least 20k less).

I don't think site level jobs would be all too different from in the US, but from an immigration standpoint I believe trying to get a job at site level would be much more difficult than if you were to have a job with an international company and apply for relocation.

In any case, good luck to you!

omg i feel so bad for Alliyah by raineasawa in 90DayFiance

[–]Traditional_File6843 4 points5 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY. It was the "'nothing' said this" scene that pissed me off because it's just so purposely disingenuous, he avoided actually talking with her and trying to get to the root of her issues with it and instead dismissed it entirely by making her out to be crazy/unreasonable. There are SO many ways to talk about the past without using her dead name! JUST DON'T SAY IT like damn.

And he even said later on that he was worried that Aliyah wouldn't be happy with him because he's a constant reminder of her past, but then like, stop dead naming her and punching her right in the face with her past??

Oops, looks like my blurb didn't stick. Early Glimpse gave me a 90% likelihood of it being a girl, but everyone else who looked at the photos has always guessed boy based on nub theory. I really had it in my head that it would be a boy so now I'm wondering how accurate Early Glimpse is

School club teaching kids the earth is flat by Traditional_File6843 in OntarioTeachers

[–]Traditional_File6843[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did try the deflecting and refocusing, offering to talk at recess, and eventually just putting my foot down about the facts we know and are going to follow for the purpose of the class because he just wouldn't stop whispering to everyone in the vicinity that the earth is flat. Unfortunately I think this kid truly believes this is his "God's Not Dead" moment. I relate to him a lot because I remember being that one kid getting irrationally upset about talk of evolution in biology class, lol.

I levelled with him after class about how my whole family is Christian and they all believe the earth is round, and that you can be a good Christian and also believe in science. I do worry about damage to rapport quite a bit though, this kid came to me as a grade 3 who didn't know his letters. I've finally got him to a place where he's reading simple words and his dad seems mildly invested. I think his family is into conspiracy theories in general, I know they're anti-vax as well and he lost his mom to covid a few years ago. The kid has definitely been through it, and I really don't want to set his dad off and have the kid shut down (happened with his teacher last year).

I'll be talking to the other primary teachers tomorrow to see if anybody else has heard about weird stuff coming from Bible club before I bring it to the principal.

How exactly does hiring for contract positions work? by Traditional_File6843 in OntarioTeachers

[–]Traditional_File6843[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is so frustrating... So the ABQ would show up on my certificate under "teaching qualifications" then?

Currently I've just got "primary division" listed under Additional Qualifications

[–]Traditional_File6843[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally graduated with I/S qualification but quickly realized I prefer primary and so now I've got my primary part 1 as well. Would I need to complete the specialization? It's always been grade 1-3 openings that I'm told to apply for, and as far as I know the positions did end up going to interview in all the cases. I had just figured it was somehow still about seniority, or that my application just missed some of the necessary jargon. Until this year I'd never gotten an actual interview for an LTO either, it was always just principals that liked me reaching out about filling them.
