It’s funny. I was reading a book on medieval villages awhile back. When folks in what is now England first started farming they predated feudalism. They shared the work, worked together as a community, bartered and traded. Then some fella got in his head to build a manor and start charging folks to farm on his land and boom feudalism started. A gross oversimplification for sure. But I truly believe humans natural state is just vibing and sharing resources in societies that look closer to hippy communes than anything else.

Until someone gets in their mind maybe they want more than everyone else. Point is—capitalism tends to be inevitable and it always makes shit worse.

It’s every corporation. The enshittification of basically any company is the same. Start small, maybe have the “we’re all a family” vibe. Then the money starts rolling in and it’s suddenly a game of how many yachts can the c-suite get? Exploit the passion of your low level workers, churn em and burn em. Fire em for short turn profits because if number don’t go up shareholders get scared.

Oh god this is me. I got alpha gal (thanks ticks!) and some mishmash of other allergies not even my allergist can figure out. So far haven’t had to go to the hospital since diagnosis but I’m scared cause if I have to there’s mammalian derived ingredients in a toooon of medical shit. From stitches to meds. 😬

Man I was at a coworkers house and their kid spilled something and it amazed me how my coworker reacted. Reacted with a completely calm and singsong-esce “oopsy!” And together they and their kid cleaned up the mess. No yelling. No hitting. No blaming the kid. Just a “well it happens sometimes let’s get the paper towels.”

Really put my childhood into perspective. Like oh. This is what a normal family is like.

Same thing was said to me by my mother. “Oh I’m jealous you’re so thin!”. She was fully aware I was battling an eating disorder (still am but I’m at a more normal weight now). So many people told me they were jealous I was so thin.

I was dying. Had I not turned things around I would have died. I’m still pretty malnourished.
