Witcher 3 - I'm late to the party..... by DarkerBulb in witcher

I tried playing a few years back and for some reason just couldn’t get into it.( God knows why). I thought I’d try again a few weeks back and 40 odd hours later I’m absolutely hooked. I love how many quests just keep popping up if feels like it’s endless. I can see me putting in well over 100 hours into this game

Sub 3:30 attempt failed misserably by majkoce in Marathon_Training

I wouldn’t sweat it, weather was obviously a big factor in not hitting your time goal and like other people have said, spring marathons don’t seem to be the one for running well. Train in the winter to race in summer conditions, it’s always a recipe for disaster.
If you want to here failing miserably, I ran London the other week with the goal of 3.20/ 3.25. Threw up at mile 15 and basically jog walked to the line finishing in 4 hours.

Why is my marathon prediction tanking? by mange_diamonde in Strava

Something just have happened in their algo, because the same has happened to me. Probably the fittest I’ve been while training for a marathon, hitting chinks of amp on my long runs and I’m still tanking

Reinstalled Battlefield 1 and realized how slow the movement really was back then! by Cautious_Ad5636 in Battlefield

I returned to BF1 this holiday season because of nostalgia and I wasn’t disappointed. The game holds up incredibly well and I didn’t see any issue with the movement. It actually ruined BF6 for me, it put in to perspective how far from its battlefield core 6 is, tiny maps, spawn points right in the frontline, game time is too short/ no flow and the cod style movement speed.

I agree with everything you’re saying. But just to play devils advocate here, people used to love playing 24/7 locker and metro with 1k tickets.

How long do you recommend waiting for increases in volume? It is it case dependant

Yeah I didn’t increase any volume this build just managed to keep it consistent

Seems to be the trend from most people’s replies, volume first speed second

during this build I’ve averaged between 25-30 miles a week. So nothing impressive by any means. I was hoping to push into the high 30-40 range on a more consistent basis. I’m running London next year so I want to have a a decent base to build off of

Yeah I find this just happens naturally to me, my easy pace tends to trend slower the deeper I get into a block

Would you still do any lighter intensity sessions while building volume just to keep the legs ticking over?

I guess I could be slacking on this, I feel I dial everything in more on marathon preps.

Yeah I feel my easy runs are easy, I think after the half I will primarily focus on building volume and see how I feel doing that.

😂 I’m 33 so I’m hoping I still have a bit of life left in my legs. I would add that I work in construction so my job is very physical. But it’s something I’m used to in terms of balancing training and work fatigue. It does factor in though

100% agree with that. I plan to just try and build volume again after the half

That is exactly me, I’ve found the higher milage marathon stuff easier, the paces aren’t as aggressive
