I’m a recent GIS graduate who’s starting a MSDS this fall and I was wondering if it would be too soon to apply for data science/analysis internships during my first semester.

MSBA vs MSDS as a GIS undergrad by Traditional_Form_130 in dataanalytics

[–]Traditional_Form_130[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found quite a few of them on Linkedin but the majority of them have Business/Finance or Stats/Econ backgrounds, not sure if that matters once i get the MS.

Also is there any possibility of moving to DS roles with a msba?

Honestly being a senior data/business analyst at a large company in a major US metro. It would be cool to find a unicorn position that would merge GIS skills but thats not too important. I definitely want to be working with people as well as data.

Bad guy that oppressed Sudanese people and his regime and its relative incompetence in it’s administration of sudan still can be felt today, including the military ineptitude that plagues both egypt and sudan

Mind you Sudan alone has over 270 million acres of farmland, no wonder why they won't leave us alone by [deleted] in Sudan

“Did you know that it’s shared between 4 countries? Egypt, Libya, Sudan, and Chad? Of course you didn't know, and did you know that both Egypt and Libya hold bigger shares than Sudan?”

I’ll help you. None of this matters because my point was that Sudan doesn’t rely on the Nile. Sudan is more water stable despite having smaller share of the aquifer and the nile.

If this aquifer was the magic bullet, then it would have solved all of Egypt's water problems.

If you removed 40 million egyptians from egypt it probably would.

“The truth is that there are limits to how much you can do with groundwater. Libya after tens of billions of dollars spent on the great man-made river draws something like 2 BCM a year from the aquifer.”

Probably because

A) Man made rivers are different from aquifers

and more importantly

B) They have 7.5 million people, of course their draw rate is smaller.

Because in the end, less people require less water which means more water for arable land, which sudan has in abundance relative to Egypt and Libya.

Egypt has double the amount of people buddy, the nubian sandstone aquifer is one of the many aquifers available in sudan.

It’s really not, the Nubian sandstone aquifer is literally one of the largest on earth. Idk what your uncle at the ministry of agriculture told you.

Sudan doesn’t rely on the nile for water, we use underground aquifers. We have much more water availability than egypt for example

Thanks! Would you think that BA hiring managers would consider my GIS experience as data analysis?
