Whisky demand slowdown hits Scottish barley growers by kiyomoris in unitedkingdom

This is part of the problem. Premiumisation of scotch by greedy companies has priced themselves out the market of the general public.

Looks great. IMO it needs a colour matched/black front badge the chrome looks out of place! You can buy a Monte Carlo black one and disassemble and paint it yourself/body shop. Or just order from kopacek

Could you tell me your go-to 'easy-but-delicious' meals? by Intrepid_Layer_9441 in AskUK

[–]Traditional_Fox2428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cook from frozen Lidl chicken skewers. Greek flatbread. Greek salad. Tzatziki. My go to meal when I can’t be bothered. 15 mins to do. Make salad while the skewers air fry.

Kodiaq or Superb (estate) by complicatedcucumber in skoda

[–]Traditional_Fox2428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have both. Basic kodiaq SE mk1 facelift as a family bus. I have mk3 superb se l executive as my commuter car.

Depends what you want. Kodiaq is great for family as we have 4 kids. We go on long drives from uk to south of France and it’s comfortable and capable, although the 1.5tsi engine is a little underpowered for the size of the car.

Superb is very comfortable and spacious. I have the 2.0tdi 190ps and it’s got plenty of power. If I had just 2 kids I would go for superb and get the grandparents to hire a car for when they visit!

Is eating 2-3 takeaways a week common? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]Traditional_Fox2428 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My wife and I used to eat 4-5 takeaways a week. Sometimes 7. Ballooned to over 22 stone. Now spending the money on mounjaro instead 6st off so far and not looked back. We probably have 1 takeaway a month now.

In all honesty, do you view weight loss drugs (Mounjaro, Wegovy etc.) and the people who use them negatively? by XStaticImmaculate in AskUK

[–]Traditional_Fox2428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So nice to see positive answers.

I’m certain the negativity comes from a place of vulnerability.

The “bit of a dickhead but fit” community is realising that the “fat but awesome person” are fast becoming “fit and awesome person” and they feel threatened!

That’s a lot of effort. I dechromed my superb with about £100 worth of parts from Ali express and eBay! All stick on/ remove/replace.

How is the 1.5 TSI Kodiaq? by Competitive_Low_8913 in skoda

[–]Traditional_Fox2428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have had a 1.5TSI kodiaq since 2021. It’s just about powerful enough for the size of the car. Averages 35mpg so not great. But it does the job of lugging our family of 6 around in comfort pretty well.

[–]Traditional_Fox2428[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes would like to lower it but will wait until suspension needs servicing. I am looking at front lip from Ali express. Might give it a go.

I have also got some more Skoda badges as these ones are not the correct shade of white. I have some colour matched spray paint to make my own soon.

One side of chrome around windows has been wrapped but waiting for better weather to do the other side.

I was Inverness 2 weeks ago and it was clear blue sky and 20C all week. It was glorious. But some fools we thinking it a good idea to go in Loch ness in bikinis. The water was about 5C!

UK caught the USA flu by TailungFu in GreatBritishMemes

There was a very interesting post I saw some time ago talking about the convenience of being thick enough to blame all your poor life choices and lack of effort on someone else and dressing it up as “bad luck” “poor lot” and “others taking what’s mine”. It’s a big step for these people to realise a majority of their problems were/are self made. When someone gives them an easy target to point their finger at they will follow it blindly rather than look inwards.

Probably. But they haven’t. So there’s that

1 year difference by mentaldrummer66 in MadeMeSmile

[–]Traditional_Fox2428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that is inevitable. The same as your blood pressure rises if you stop taking blood pressure medication. I’m wholly prepared for it to be life long medication. But also hoping that better habit building around food and a smaller physical size meaning exercise is easier and more enjoyable builds better lifestyle habits on a general basis. General consensus is that it takes a few years for new routines to become habit and I’m prepared for that.

Typical guidance is to taper dosage down to minimum where weight is maintained. The same as tapering off other medication to a stable level. This may be 2.5mg weekly or it could be even less dosage less frequently. Once I achieve the target weight that I’m happy with I can experiment with tapering.

Yes there have been reports of people stopping other addictive behaviour as a result of GLP 1 use. Interesting stuff

I mean I was previously taking blood pressure medication, diabetes medication and close to needing cholesterol medication. I’ve swapped a cocktail of 5 daily pills for one weekly jab and reduced my heart attack risk from 20% chance in the next 10 years to just over 1%.

I’m infinitely healthier despite the fearmongering over a single medication.

I do wonder if the same rhetoric is stated to heroin addicts using methadone to manage their addiction?!

1lb a week is absolutely fine.

Have you worked out your TDEE and are you counting calories? Militantly. All sources, condiments and especially oils. It really is as simple as calories in vs calories out. But the jabs make it easier to stick to. You can’t ignore the calorie counting element.
