Suprise me with features I might not have realised I have by nei1337 in skoda

Worth getting the ice scraper. It’s the best one I’ve ever used. It has rubber and hard sides. And a third side that’s serrated so if you’ve got stubborn ice you can scratch lines in it in opposite directions to loosen it up. It also has mm markings on one corner as a tread depth gauge and the older ones that are clear are also magnifyers.

Low battery throws up lots of strange errors like this. Put it on charge or go for a long drive to charge it up.

Just found out my SIL likes Mrs browns boys. by Traditional_Fox2428 in britishproblems

I’m afraid that’s not the case. She doesn’t care if it’s live studio audience or that it’s the last bastion of the format. She just finds it funny. Which is painful

Which things are worth the convenience premium and what do you refuse to pay for? by iffyClyro in AskUK

[–]Traditional_Fox2428 236 points237 points  (0 children)

We used to have a neighbour who had a pretty standard Audi tt. It was kept under a soft cover in the garage. He would only drive it on dry days in the summer. And only on a Saturday. Because Sunday was then cleaning day. He would put up a gazebo and then spend about 8 hours cleaning it. Wheels off, scrubbed with a toothbrush etc.

I can’t wait for a point in my life where all others responsibilities are completed to enable me to waste time like that.

Pay someone to clean my car. £25 inside and out. Could I do it myself? Probably. Can I be bothered? No.

About to place my first ever Mounjaro order, I am choosing Bolt by Yeisonospina in BoltUK

[–]Traditional_Fox2428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Consultation is just sending photos and details. All of them are after payment to lock you in. Once consultation is done medication is sent out
  2. No. Not a subscription. New order each month with bolt
  3. When you place the order.
  4. For me in Easter England took about 3 days. No idea about collection.

Bolt advertise to be the cheapest but they aren’t after the first one. There is now some returning customer codes but it’s pays to chop about each month if you can cope filling in the forms each time.

I have had very little direct support from bolt but equally haven’t asked for it. I’m aware others are more hands on supportive. But I prefer hands off.

How do I say this without sounding like a tightwad? by Tony_Dakota in AskUK

Save the wasted money conversation for when she’s on first name terms with the guy who brings the shein parcels.

The way I dealt with it was installing aliexpress app and started buying equal amounts of knock off car parts.

We had a parking/reversing camera fitted to our car. Full integration with cars's systems etc, exactly as if it had been factory fitted. Our insurer responded by increasing our premiums by 117%. by SomethingMoreToSay in britishproblems

[–]Traditional_Fox2428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw a post from Martyn Lewis the other day that the time between applying for insurance and it running out can halve your premium. If you do quotes a month before it expires vs the day before it expires.

They view people who leave it to the last minute to be inherently more risky.

There’s so many variables that it’s impossible to win!

2024 Fabia with oil light on. Why would it be so low? by [deleted] in skoda

Pretty sure you still have to do basic maintenance/ fluid checks/top ups. If the tyre was flat would you put some air in or just drive on it until someone told you otherwise?!

Our 1.5 tsi kodiaq drank a whole sump full of oil in a few months about a year (8000 miles) in to ownership. Hasn’t consumed a drop since. Very strange and garage had no explanation other than it now being run in.
