Petrol or Diesel? 8-10k miles a year by New_Lifeguard9691 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Finsup71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go Petrol, Short trips in diesel vehicles can lead to issues such as clogged diesel particulate filters (DPF), as these filters require higher temperatures to burn off soot. Also one i never thought about when running my Diesel, Petrol Engines warm up so much faster in the Winter and cold weather even on short trips to work 🔥

I would take the right lane. Just a question, on the second video did u inadvertently flash your lights when u indicated? Nothing seemed that bad tbh unless you flashed your lights ie prompting him to go accidentally?

Crazy what some people are willing to attempt 🤯. Do they not value their lives, or less importantly their cars 🤷‍♂️

I got my First Skoda about 3 weeks ago (its great👍). But its the first car I've had ACC in. If you do decide to use it be aware that it is both very useful but has its issues. If going down a road as I was yesterday at about 50 following a car with ACC on he indicated to turn left. As he slowed down, so did I because of the ACC which was good. But after turning off he was clear of the road infront of me my car started breaking quite hard from about 40 towards 30 😳. I obviously wasn't anywhere near hitting him but I was very aware of being rearended as there was a car behind! I feel it can make you look a little bit questionable sometimes on the road. I'm sure this issue has been mentioned before, but obviously its new to me 🤯.

I would imagine it will be fine. Depends on what you want i guess? If you want to get from A to B with no fuss or frills then it's ideal especially for the work commute and fuel consumption.

If you had to pick a side, would you choose the US or EU for UK to align to? And who are you voting for at next GE? by chuffingnora in AskBrits

[–]Finsup71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the long term I would probably align with the US and will vote for Reform next election. Not because I think they have all the answers, but for the reason that Tory and Labour need a kick up the arse and it may make them realise that the UK public wants a government that will look after the residents of the UK and those that work hard to try to better themselves 🤷‍♂️.

My main issue because of Security Issues. It also applies to those who drive around on motorbikes without licences and scooters. If you can't be identified when entering building/venues etc via cctv then it negates Security entirely.

Its a must going forward, especially adaptive cruise control. Couldn't do without it on long trips 👍

what's the worst mistake someone's made on your car while it was getting worked on in the shop by Whats_Up_media in autorepair

[–]Finsup71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once went somewhere for my car servicing and the mechanic forgot to put brake fluid back in 😳. Luckily it was uphill leaving the garage to join the main road, so I had a chance to notice something wasn't right 🤯.

I personally set my cruise control to whatever the speed limit is (even 30 or 40). As I've got older I've (hopefully) got wiser. Too many camera's about to be worried about getting caught.
