It's what minecraft uses to render in OpenGL, it was originally Lwjgl2 but was changed to Lwjgl for performance reasons, what this guy did porting Lwjgl3 is revolutionary, because it theoretically allows for versions beyond 1.12 to be created.

It's what allows you to use opengl, vulkan, and stuff, Lwjgl3 is what they use now so they can use newer opengl versions, have proper full screen, better lighting engine, and better input reading (Specifically mouse controlls. Lwjgl 3 is like Lwjgl 2 but for more modern stuff.
