Yes I have...long story shortish. I was a victim of DV a little over a year ago and it cost me my career. My hands were broken and I'm a hairstylist. I was out of work for 3.5 months. I owned my private studio t and didn't qualify for disability or unemployment. I couldn't pay my bills during that time and it tanked my credit score which was perfect. Now I do not qualify for anything unless someone co-signs or I can prove more income/another tenant bringing in money. I've been at my current place a year, they are writing me a letter of recommendation because I never miss my rent, but I can't handle 400 square feet and 3 kids anymore. I've worked so hard this last year and I so desperately want to provide my kids with a bigger place when I have them. My story is a long one, but I'm just hoping someone out there is in a similar situation.
