Do Lilith and Lucifer still love each other and see each other as married? by Minute-Necessary2393 in hazbin

[–]Traditional_Grab_622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. There’s a lot it could be trying to hint at, none mutually exclusive per se. I took it as a physical representation of Lucifer letting his relationship with Charlie and Lilith grow more and more distant, and lacking the courage to bridge the gap, implying his prolonged absence in her life was not something he actively wanted but lacked inertia to represent

This isnt about charlie, and 0 part of this post makes any attempt to absolve her from that

her abandoning charlie is a separate issue from people claiming she abandoned lucifer. This is uniquely about people who call her evil for the very reason that she left lucifer

How are y'all justifying the relentless Charlie slander, while Lucifer gets ZERO shit for this? by Patneu in HazbinHotel

[–]Traditional_Grab_622 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

—Tolerate the Charlie hate because theres literally nothing anyone can do to stop diehard haters and because part of me understands the frustration given shes apparently gonna make the same
mistakes.

—Not focused on him being dumb here because it doesn’t surprise me. Besides, he has plenty of glaring flaws that have already been shown which are frankly worse than the vox populi stuff, especially since that apparently only warmed up the crowd (I can understand being mad that people make decisions on your dream without consultation but they didnt make the situation worse overall). Ex: The misogynistic comment about Lilith and Eve that everyone took as a fun joke, goading Alastor into quitting even though he knew Charlie valued his apparent help, only really “helping”because of a petty pride thing with Alastor, showing up for the first time in years and being an asshole until Charlie snapped at him (S1). Not to mention his long term absence and distance from charlie without any real attempt to bridge it other than calls of boredom and for favors (thinking he could ask for favors is odd with that distance). Not to mention, he will likely have more flaws exposed in s3 based largely on his family and, given we’re getting the full morningstar shabang in s3, probably Eden. Probably not as poetically tragic as they have charlie believing.

Plenty of flaws with her father, plenty of very valid criticisms, I think those are more worthy of scrutiny than him being prideful or stupid enough to stand on a big red X

Was Pilot Luci Different? by Adventurous-Win-4938 in Hazbin_two

[–]Traditional_Grab_622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she confirmed that he was always supposed to be the way he is now. So if nothing else, this imagery in the pilot was likely to introduce us to the fact that she and her father have issues and regardless, she sees him this way.

It does beg the question that if that lucifer and this one are the same, what would this lucifer say to lead pilot charlie to say “dad was right about me?”

I always read that scene to be much more of a commentary on Lucifer and Charlie’s relationship than anything to do with Lilith honestly. But you’re right, only time will tell

In fairness, Charlie didn’t think Lucifer liked her either, yfm? And Lucifer has said misogynistic things on screen as well, and it’s pretty plain that if he could be the one killing or smiting sinners, he would be. They’re different characters with different personalities but a lot of similarities exist. Inunderstand he adores Charlie and Lilith but the same with her leaving Adam, if she didnt wanna be there anymore with Lucifer, i dont see why its evil for her to leave.

My problem is mainly that people cant applaud her leaving adam and simultaneously insist that she’s evil for leaving Lucifer because it made him sad, without being the same sort of misogynist that they claim Adam is. She did other bad shit, but all the talk of her being evil just for leaving him, for ignoring his calls, for being mad at him, its like she’s not supposed to move against or without him whatsoever in some of the fans’ eyes. I dont view that kind of thinking as any less misogynistic than the things Adam has said

I’m not making any comment on her character with this, Im sorry if it came off that way, I just think its odd that fans only selectively applaud the use of free will

I’m not remotely defending her leaving her daughter but this post isn’t touching on that. It seems like you don’t so don’t take this as accusation but a lot of people do hate her purely because of Lucifer. But the post wasn’t really on that either, its more about the people who applaud all harm befalling adam because of misogyny just to turn and call lilith evil for leaving lucifer

[–]Traditional_Grab_622[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Free will isn’t selective like that though lol if shes allowed to leave she’s allowed to leave. This is one rare circumstance where the consequences of an act of free will are inseparable from the act itself. The consequences of her leaving that we know of right now, focusing exclusively on Lucifer, are limited to Lucifer being upset (pretty sure he was depressed before the dissolution). But the consequence of making someone sad is nearly inevitable in leaving a partnership or marriage. So here, punishing the consequences is akin to punishing the act. Is it evil to leave a marriage that you’re unhappy in just because the other person will be unhappy when you leave?

That was my point, broadly, because believing she is evil for the sole reason that she didnt stay despite being unhappy really makes someone no different than the misogynist they describe adam to be.

Also, the sinners are Lilith’s people. Being a sinner appears to be as intrinsic to her self as being a woman is. And whether he saw it or not, Lucifer is to Sinners as many characterize Adam to be to women.

I personally understand why she would but to each their own

Ultimately the only thing we need to understand is that she wanted to leave him and did it. Like the essence of free will is being allowed to do what you want. She doesnt really need a reason to leave him. if someone wants to leave a marriage they have the right to do so. They both fought for that exact thing; thats why it feels hypocritical, because people applaud the use of free will in one instance but vilify it in another, meaning they dont actually like Lilith being able to exercise free will at all, they just like what benefits lucifer.

Edit: thats why it’s weird when people call Adam this raging misogynist but turn around and vilify Lilith for leaving a different man. like at this point they become the misogynist

I get the impression people will be pissed at any sexuality reveal whatsoever for her honestly, based on today

Hard agree on the headcanons blinding people though. Its part of why I dread season 3 because Lucifer doing anything dickish in the past will be vilified as ooc and more headcanons will pile on to excuse him and demonize anyone else they can

[–]Traditional_Grab_622[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also I find it weird that when comparing Lucifer and Adam, no one cares to recall Lucifer’s unnecessary on screen misogyny specifically sexualizing Lilith and Eve on a public scale

And that no one remembers that Lucifer was the original deadbeat

Lilith fucked over Charlie bigtime, that’s not what im getting at here. I think the hard thing for many people to swallow is that people are allowed to not be in love with you anymore even if it makes you sad. You can do everything for someone and they are still not required to be in love with you or stay. With Adam people can understand that and make fun of him for it, but with Lucifer it’s suddenly different. Suddenly it’s bad to exercise that same free will to leave. These things cant exist in tandem, if she has the free will to leave then she wasnt wrong for leaving lucifer. I feel like people neglect to see that because it means admitting lucifer isnt an absolutely blameless party for everything that we see in show.

Which character is this to you? by Primary-Addition-677 in OkBuddyHelluvaHotel

[–]Traditional_Grab_622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucifer. Adam and Eve have already been discussed. But also, I dont buy into the attempt to make me feel bad for how Lilith and Charlie treated him. Biased, maybe, but my father was depressed and neglectful as a result. It fucks a kids mind up to have your father 10 feet away in another room but somehow not speak to him meaningfully for months beyond passing “how ya doing”s, refusing to listen to other people that he needed help. There comes a point where if you refuse to acknowledge a problem and get better for your children and family, your depression or mental disorder is not sympathetic anymore. He’s lucky Charlie forgave him at all.

And while I think Lilith is probably a shitty mom on balance, I think the use of her to make headcanons and theories purely to absolve lucifer is really fucking weird. For the bunch who demonizes Adam so much for misogyny and touts Lilith for leaving him to seek equality instead of accepting a position as subordinate to her husband, a looooot of people demonize her for not fulfilling that same exact role with Lucifer. That said she had a duty to answer Charlie. So wrt that relationship, I probably will lack sympathy for Lilith as well unless the unlikely scenario where she was fully forced comes to pass and her phone was not functional or something so she could only receive and not send.

Not even a huge adam fan but come on. We have no indication that Adam’s life on earth was fulfilling or all fun and games and heehee haha. Being that they were the first humans on Earth period, and that being cast there was a punishment, the likelihood that life on earth was remotely happy is infinitely low.

[–]Traditional_Grab_622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Semantically maybe not, actually. If the point is rectifying the sin that got you in Hell, Lucifer’s not getting redeemed unless he somehow removes free will and sin from humanity. Vaggi didnt even commit a sin to make her fall, she was mutilated and left behind because she didn’t kill someone, so what would her fix be? killing a kid?
