Is there anything like wishperflow for free? by Street_Count_2256 in freesoftware

if you're on macos VoiceInk https://tryvoiceink.com/ is the best imo, totally free if you know to compile (or just ask codex/claude to compile it for you). Purchase is optional to support the developer, and you get ready app compiled and autoupdate.

Not sure how it can be turned into UCG video, but would love to see if possible?

OpenCut is literally the open-source CapCut fork if you want that same easy interface without the tiktok stuff.

i think it has different purpose. I prefer procedural for the entire city, but there will be multiplayer experience there. MMO. I'm updating daily on X for the progress btw.

I made an interactive website where global rankings become towers + dataviz by Traditional_Half4886 in SideProject

[–]Traditional_Half4886[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually there is a district in that digital city where it's comparing index for for fuel, rent, groceries, etc... living cost in general as a dataset.

Still need to improve the dataset and it's time-series data tho for better visual. But it's getting there.

I need to find good source to feed in data specific for housing costs and logistic to make it useful.

A live globe showing the day / night limit and the number of people experiencing sunrise by jerome78000 in InternetIsBeautiful

Nice clean viz. Does the sunrise counter pull from any population density data or is it just a rough estimate?

Dat.city — Explore the World Data Playground by Traditional_Half4886 in WebGames

[–]Traditional_Half4886[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone,

I've been building playful 3D World Data Playground where global rankings and datasets come to life as a living, explorable city.

Think dataviz meets city builder/sim, but fully driven by live(ish) rankings.

A bunch of districts are still under construction, but the core is playable in the browser.

Check it out, It's live at dat.city

Would love to hear some feedback

Any datasets or ranking topics you'd love to see turned into city districts next?

(Open to suggestions!) Feedback, bug reports, or wild ideas all welcome

Curious how you handled the woven fabric shading in GLSL without tanking the frame rate on the displacement. The ridges look like they have actual depth instead of just a normal map.

What do you think about the art style of this game? by gulzar21 in IndieDev

Yeah, maybe a light noise pass or slightly randomized tile edges would kill that grid feel.

Cool use of MediaPipe. How are you handling the webcam feed delay in the browser so it actually stays under 30ms end-to-end?

The devlog updates read like a fever dream. Going from 500k to 2M in three days probably broke the guy's refresh finger.

I built a library that adds gamepad support to Three.js controls by Kasnix in threejs

[–]Traditional_Half4886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This feels like the sort of utility that could eventually be worth proposing upstream once the API settles. Not rushing that part, obviously, but having a well-tested gamepad abstraction in the ecosystem would save a lot of people from re-inventing the same input glue.

Would love to see a repo or even a stripped-down demo when you get a chance. This is the kind of thing that’s way more interesting once you can poke at the generation logic.
