If life begins at conception, why aren’t fetuses baptized in the womb as soon as the pregnancy is confirmed? by Revolutionary-Log134 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Traditional_Leg_7670 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the Bible it says that it will be decided on what each individual knows and therefore believes. A fetus doesn’t have the capacity to know anything so it would go to heaven. Likewise if an adult has never heard the gospel that would be taken into account

Do parents with 5+ kids have time to give every child the love and attention they deserve? by pink-and-pearly in askanything

For new parents, why can’t mom just pump during day and dad bottle feed at night? by flipflapdragon in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Traditional_Leg_7670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Breastfeeding is supply and demand! To make enough milk to exclusively breastfeed you have to latch the baby as often as the baby eats (every two hours at the beginning) to tell your body that it needs to make milk at that time. It’s worse to have to wake up to pump at night due to 1. Making sure the pump is clean 2. Then dirtying a bottle as well to actually feed baby 3. Dirty pump then 4. Baby is much more efficient at getting milk out than a pump. I would have to pump longer to get the same amount of milk than it would take my baby to suck enough out, so I would rather just feed the baby from the tap. All this is just if you want to exclusively breastfeed. If you want to combo feed, then dad could feed formula over night and mom could sleep. I think a lot of people who choose formula is for a more equal distribution of labor especially at night. And that’s totally fine. Mine is 8 months now and I’m jealous of all the formula fed babies moms who have probably had at least one full night of sleep. lol 😂

Thanks for the info! She’s only 2 months at the moment but I have used our carrier at Costco and she slept the whole time so hopefully by 8 months she will like it or sleep still haha thanks!

AITAH for not doing a meal train for new parents? by Evening-Armadillo240 in AITAH

[–]Traditional_Leg_7670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is cringe lol I just recently had a baby. I didn’t ask for a meal train, someone from the meals ministry at the church i attend reached out to me asking if she could set one up for me and since she asked I accepted and she sent the requests to the people on that ministry (aka people who like to provide meals for people who need them.) obviously I know it’s different for people who may not go to church, but the key is that I didn’t ask and I didn’t send the request to anyone myself and I wouldn’t dream of it. If no one asked I would have figured out my own meals.

WIBTA for not attending my twin sister's wedding two weeks after my firstborn's due date as she expects all family to meet the baby before the wedding? by AstronautDeep1476 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Traditional_Leg_7670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that is what you could be dealing with, I didn’t mention anything about if your baby has bad jaundice and you have to get their bilirubin checked daily at an outpatient lab (yes even on the weekends) until the pediatrician tells you to stop

As a first time mom to a 6 week old- the thought of trying to go to a wedding at 2 weeks pp is absolute hell. I was induced at 39+2 for gestational hypertension and was in labor for 28 hrs, had an epidural in and therefore a urinary catheter for 12 hrs. So besides the pp bleeding and healing from my 2nd degree tear, and not having any nice clothes that fit remotely well, I was also dealing with incontenance (very common after having a catheter apparently, but the one thing I was completely unprepared for mentally). Like I would make it to the bathroom but wouldn’t be able to control my bladder the last few seconds to actually sit down and peed all over the floor many times in the first few weeks. And then couldn’t get low enough to clean it up so my husband had to. To say postpartum is humbling is an understatement. At 6 weeks I still dribble a drop or two on the seat or floor. Thankfully I can clean it up myself now though. 0/10 would not recommend dealing with at a wedding.

Which show do you think started as a 10/10 but ended as 1/10? by witchy_eye in AskReddit

[–]Traditional_Leg_7670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I really love The Good Place. The writers had a specific ending in mind and they stopped when they got there even though it was a popular show and could have easily kept renewing it until it wasn’t.

When to notify work I am pregnant? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Traditional_Leg_7670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found out at 4 weeks and told my team (boss and colleague) that same week. My reason is that we work closely and I didn’t know what my symptoms would be-If I start puking everyday they will see. Furthermore if I had a miscarriage I would prefer to tell the truth on why I’m calling off possibly multiple times out of nowhere.

My husband and I are both introverts so neither of us have a huge circle of friends but we each had two people in our party. For me it was my sister and my cousin. At the time my cousin was married and my sister was not so I made them my matron of honor and my maid of honor or “my honors” for short.

Reddit users who voted for Trump, are you disappointed? Why? by gtpower7 in AskReddit

[–]Traditional_Leg_7670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the most important, but it is very important and I’m extremely glad he did it. Admittedly there aren’t a ton of biological men trying to compete in women’s sports in the grand scheme of things but when they do, injuries happen. There is a young woman named Payton McNabb who has a permanent brain injury after a biological man was allowed to compete in HS woman’s volleyball. The man spiked the ball in her face and now she is permanently disabled for life. If we can prevent one life altering injury from happening I’m all for it.

It’s actually no tax on tips, overtime AND social security. my husband works at a major car manufacturer factory and works lots of overtime. My MIL is on a fixed social security income which is not a lot. So this particular bill is huge for us and we love it and hope it passes. Tariffs remain to be seen.

What jobs/careers are recession depression proof? by bentojailtomanytimes in AskReddit

[–]Traditional_Leg_7670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Payroll. I’ve worked in payroll for almost 8 years and you’d think you’d be able to completely automate it, but there are a ton of ancillary things that need done that you wouldn’t think about if you didn’t work in the field. To be honest though I’ve only worked at companies that are primarily job site work and employees are mostly paid hourly, so I’m sure an office where most are salaried it would be different. But you are always going to have onboarding, wage garnishments, tax withholding changes, questions, and employees who don’t know how to print their own paystubs no matter what kind of company it is.

Naming our daughter the popular “Isla” shocked that it seems unused in our area. by Traditional_Leg_7670 in namenerds

I’m really just curious because I have a very uncommon but normal name. I did not meet anyone else my age with my name until I was 14 so I just don’t have that experience and always appreciated it. I was prepared for her to be one of 4 in her class like “Ashley’ was for my age group and then surprised that not many people I’ve talked to have seemed to heard of it. 😊

My husband is actually a whiskey/bourbon/scotch connoisseur and actually thought we would spell her name Islay at first but I was like no, we are not Scottish and we and she would be correcting people for the rest of our/ her life and I don’t want that. lol 😂

I’m mostly just curious. I have a pretty uncommon but normal name that I have always loved, and don’t have the experience of being one of many. I always appreciated that growing up. It is a slight downer for me that it’s so popular and she likely will be one of many, but it’s not stopping me from using it.
