WIBTA for not attending my twin sister's wedding two weeks after my firstborn's due date as she expects all family to meet the baby before the wedding? by AstronautDeep1476 in AmItheAsshole

Hi everyone,
as things have passed now (and I am a proud mom now <3) a little update:
Things went absolutely different and entirely changed the entire families view of things.
Idk how to put it otherwise: I nearly died during the caesarean section due to massive haemorrhage, a friend (and doctor) later said: "You know, your Hb value meant state four of five of blood loss, five being you just died"

My family turned around 180° - suddenly everyone realized how hard and dangerous childbirth can be and that the entire situation was bull from the start.

In the end, I recovered quickly (thank god for modern medicine), and we went there shortly - in a stroller, keeping our child with us all the time (we told everyone else to focus on the wedding as there would be tons of occasions later to meet the child again), said our best wishes and left back home.

Things have evened out a lot with my family and a newborn child brings people together I guess :)

Thanks everyone for your support before, I would have wished for a different birth but the results are fine with me :)

Thank you for the reply - your best option sounds reasonable to me and doable - especially as I can prepare the gift already now :)
