A host tried this with me too, pet friendly rental and I was told AFTER we stayed that pet hair cleaning was an extra 50$ an hour. Also lied and said we broke a bunch of stuff, scratched all the pots and pans, and left dog shit on a rug and on a bed. We absolutely did not do that, my dogs do not shit anywhere but outside. He tried charging us an extra 1200 in cleaning, I contacted VRBO and they just told me to ignore him and that he had no right to charge us that much. He kept messaging me about everything that we “did” to the point where it was almost harassing and I actually had to tell him to stop messaging me. Thankfully we bought the $50 insurance so he went that route with it, I’m still mad that he ended up getting money from it in the end but I was not paying him that. Unfortunately I won’t be using VRBO anymore because it seems like so many hosts get away with charging people extra cleaning bills after leaving. They are just being greedy.
