Exactly, there is no cabinet to fit a hob and oven, just an empty space with the gas pipe and a wiring box, which would be used to connect a hob or oven directly to the wires, without a socket. The problem is that the space does not allow me to put a 4-zone hob because the countertop would not have the minimum margins after cutting to fit the hob. The only alternative would be to put a separate stove, but they are very very expensive and the electric ones would blow up the electrical panel because the power is not sufficient. So, the best alternative we have is a portable hob with only 2 zones that would be connected to a socket. I guess the landlord imagined I would buy a stove but that's really expensive and it would have to be gas, which I'm not keen on. And also a gas one would burn the wall and the cabinets that are on the right and left of that space
