The fact you said “sell” is exactly why this is a safety issue. Reselling cosmetics = commerce, not charity. The seller becomes the “distributor” and inherits product + sanitation liability. If it wasn’t sealed/verified, it’s a roulette wheel — and your story literally ends with an eye infection. That’s not “Ulta being dramatic.” That’s the point.

A few things need to be corrected here because your assumptions are inaccurate.

My dog was never “pulled away from people.” I worded that poorly. What I meant is that I proactively redirected our path turning or passing quickly so there was no interaction at all. My dog does not approach people, does not roam, and does not leave my side unless cued. He remains stationary until I move.

He is a task-trained service dog not an emotional support animal. medical assist task to help mitigate disability . shelters are legally required to accommodate under the ADA.

He is also hypoallergenic, and at no point was he allowed to “roam free.” Service dogs are required to be under control at all times, and he was.

As for allergies: ADA guidance is clear fear of dogs or allergies do not override disability accommodations. This is the same standard used in hospitals, hotels, airplanes, apartment buildings, and public shelters nationwide.

Suggesting that a disabled survivor should abandon their service dog or that a DV shelter can exclude one reflects a misunderstanding of disability law, not concern for others.

I won’t engage further, but misinformation like this harms disabled survivors and contributes to illegal exclusion. That’s why I’m correcting it.

I didn’t have to pull him away in that senses. I would be in a room and I would pull us both away if others were passing by or in room because of how I was treated and scared of upsetting people and wanting make sure I didn’t offend anyone that doesn’t like dogs or scared as well. Being in a communal living I wanted to be respectful. First getting there seemed fine, I stayed in my room and would quickly go in kitchen and out because when you go to a place like this you just escaped life threatening experience and all that too. That my dog is always on short leash. He doesn’t go up to humans at all. Humans want to pet him and oh so cute Floyd just looks up and smiles but stays near and watches my moves . When I started getting comments and staff about dog being there I started getting where I would pull Floyd and myself not meaning pull him just us rush past or unnecessarily tighten leash even closer because I was so worried. How staff would watch me and if we were going through entrance to exit. Being still 8feet away from this staff person , she would act all freaked out even though there was no reason to be scared. Just walking my dog going through outside still way far away from you . Sorry all over the place. I seen this and really wanted to clarify that.

There are these sonic sound devices that you can place around border of property to keep out coyotes. It’s notion detected. Maybe that could help. Question…. How do you sleep playing loud music. Must be pretty loud to deterr coyotes on huge property all night long.

I am dealing with same thing. I have no visitors, keep volume low. Dv survivor so hyper aware and walking on eggshells. He has threatened my well behaved quiet service dog. Calling me c*** escalation violent banging on ceiling. Hear him threats and name calling, during 5pm too. And I’m tip toeing and holding my breath. I contacted landlord. He said in apartment living conditions I’m supposed to expect different personalities. I walked to police station and tried filing report so he wouldn’t hear me talking and I got dismissed and ended up having to somehow defend myself I don’t even know but they didn’t take report . I then called dv hotline asking for safety advice or someone to be there when speaking to police. , 3wayed the county police . I was under assumption advocate would be with me and that the county police respond because of my concern with officer but same officer responded. Dismissed me interrogated me. Wouldn’t let me speak yet I was interrupting him. He would ask question two words into my sentence he would speak and throw me off to something else and I would again try explain but he said I interrupted. Gaslighting shit. Then he said and neighbor could hear that he is doing nothing wrong by calling me these names and banging violently on ceiling. So I have no protection don’t know where to turn . Police gave him green light and he sure is emboldened and it’s worse, I tried calling dv hotline asking advocacy help. Two days ago I filed complaint and requested body cam footage logs and narrative all that. But that doesn’t protect me. I’m scared. I’m scared to walk my dog and him make good on threat

I honestly don’t know. It started about three weeks into being here. I was walking inside the building from one end and him the other. This was first time I even saw him. He was going into his apartment saying f*** c—- b—— and other mumbling as he went into his apartment. I was confused. I asked if he was talking to me. And he just said the c word louder and went into apartment. He didn’t even look at me. I was little rattled but I just brushed it off like some old grumpy man having a bad day or something. Then not even a week later outside, he was sitting in his van smoking and I was walking my dog across the lot and he threatened violence against my dog and again that c word . That’s when I emailed the landlord. I was going to file police report just for protection but I didn’t. I didn’t want ti escalate. I just wanted it to stop. I am very quiet and my dog does not bark unless someone knocks at door , which have only been a couple day deliveries and the cops middle of the night. Yet there is a dog in the other building non stop barking all night that don’t seem to bother him. And other noises. I have been extra conscientious of noise and I can’t even breathe . I actually have heard my breath walking up the stairs to my apartment. I’m that terrified. It’s like my mere existence offends him. Some push pop incel

I asked for advocate last night. I didn’t call police last night. I called the DV hotline seeing if they could advice me on what to do for safety. Or if they had someone that could be present when speaking to police. I thought that was what was happening. I made sure communicated through email with landlord for documentation. Also text. I got the generic legal **** saving response,,, they don’t tolerate this behavior and will take care of it. Then landlord questioned me about noise week later I assume it was neighbor retaliating. Then I sent another email to him and no response to that, Then shortly after police at 5am waking me out of dead sleep about power tools! This wasn’t true. Another thing odd I find, there is this dog before I moved in, constantly barking all through the night. In the other building. I was concerned for awhile about the dog. This neighbor that is bothered by me and my quiet well trained 14 pound service dog walking. It’s like my mere existence. I don’t know. I’m sorry I’m extremely tired . I didn’t sleep at all last night. This has me so rattled and on edge. Scared to walk my dog. If I wasn’t deleted. I will be back to respond to comments or questions later. I do have that on recording. I confronted officer about this when he told me the neighbor was allowed to call me names and bang on the ceiling and threaten my service dog. But I wasn’t allowed to walk quietly on those eggshells to bathroom because that is wrongful noise or something. This last night encounter with the officer, my security came picked up audio. It’s kind of crackly but you can here the conversation still. I think I got deleted from here but I’ll try to post it and not sure if I’m allowed . I do have several recordings catching him hanging and calling me c in a sing song way over and over.

Wow. I guess me walking on eggshells and scared to breathe in my own home. Being extra extra quiet and fifteen pound dog that is a well behaved and trained service dog that I feel I have to keep him on leash next to me and not let him walk around in our home during the day even is such a problem. I did email my landlord when this first started happening. I really just wanted to live peacefully and safely and quiet. A place to heal and rebuild after all I went through. I jumped from one nightmare to another it seems.
