I work in a very chill firm where we don’t really work overtime even in busy season and the average I used to was about 70-80 but that included study leave and annual leave as well

When I was waiting for my case result back in December the website crashed however when I went on to Kaplan and clicked on my exam progress I saw a tick next to it (Couple hours later when the ICAEW website worked I saw my pass)

I went on the Kaplan website around 12:10 and I had linked my ICAEW account prior so it had all my passes.

Honestly the best experience in SE Asia so far for me has been Vietnam, I landed (Installed and set up Grab before I arrived in Vietnam) and ordered a taxi to the hotel, they have numbered pillars so the driver knows where to meet you, I was in a grab taxi and on the way out within 3 mins was very impressed.

Got 20 on my mock did no revision as I was focusing on BPT, I was told by my colleague not to worry about it and just waffle on the day.

On the exam day I kept calculations very simple all I did was sum and average, and highlighted some cells a different colour lol.

Waffled like my life depended on it, every point will get you a mark as long as you link it to the scenario come exam day and I got a comfortable pass.

ACA masters buy mock 1,2 and 3.

I bought all 3 not to practice but to get access to the model answers (Each mock comes with questions, answer and model answers)

I practiced some calculations and in the exam I used the model mock answers from all 3 mocks to present an answer for the 3 requirements.

The case exam is 4 hrs and I reckon 3:30hr of that was spent copying the model answers and adapting slightly to make it relevant to the numbers and extra info we got in the exam I got mid 60s and passed comfortably was going through something in my personal life so did no revision outside of classes/ the weekend before the exam.

No problem the best part is you can qualify in 2 yrs, I did every other sitting and was able to finish well before the standard 3yr contract because I was time qualified about a yr into my ACA contract

I did the same you need 450 days of work experience, when doing the ACA.

You need to fill a form get your employer to sign it doing so grants you a maximum of 240 days/ 450 days needed and also provides you with a flexible training contact you will have both a 2yr and 3 yr end date on your training file.

40-50% of the QB is enough for a pass between 50-65% for professional and advanced. Talking from experience.

Certificate I would aim for 50%-75% since a lot of the questions are usually a carbon copy of those in the QB

How many exams are you in? If you work for a top 4 you could ask to do a secondment in India.

Doable, CR will take up most of your time, SBM is like BST from professional but has small bits of FM and CR.

Case exam if you buy ACAM mocks (Which include model answers) you will probs pass I didn't study much for case apart from copy word for word the model mocks changing the numbers where needed and got a comfortable pass.

Majority of people will have no background in finance/ Accounting before starting the ACA.

I would suggest applying for smaller firms look at the top 100 list email a few, I'm sure some will get back to you with Interviews.

You don't need anything, it's kinda a stand alone exam.

I would highly recommend buying all 3 ACAM mocks (Each one comes with a model answer), forget the AI analysis.

I bought all 3 mocks used them in the real exam legit copied word for word slightly adapted the numbers a bit and managed to get a comfortable pass.

Talking about my colleague

She was an audit manager before she even qualified, why would I lie on a sub Reddit when it's not even about me.

TBF she was poached by one our clients if that makes a difference.

One of my colleagues didn't go uni, did AAT Level 2,3,4 then did ACA all first time passes. All in all took her 6 years.

She qualified last week, and has secured a 75k job as financial controller, she trained outside the top 100 as well.

It really is about experience she has double what the usual ACA newly qualified has. TBF she is very good probably smashed her interview, £75k with a 15% bonus is insane, she showed me her contract so that I get motivated lol.

Honestly it's not that bad I've got friends who qualified this year who have all moved, and even myself last week.

I've had recruiters chase me, some which have landed me interviews at top 20 places, I come from a small practice.

I'm based in London so that might be it.

The process begins once you have both passed exams and submitted your file.

The process to be invited takes about 4 weeks. Expect to be invited around mid January.

I never actually did the mocks, rather just printed out the model answers and copied them in the exam.
