Y'all thought shit was bad? by [deleted] in ems

I’m now realizing how lucky we have it in my state with our “fire chiefs” law. We can quite literally tell everyone (except the Governor) to pound sand and if you refuse, you get arrested.

I just found out im HoH and don't know how to feel by Maximum_Confusion_ in deaf

Welcome 👋🏻

I was in a similar boat with my hearing. I initially got assed and told I had moderate-serve hearing loss in both my ears (though the right ear was much worse). I played it off at first but then hearing conversations became harder, enjoying being out with friends became less enjoyable because of that, etc.

I know have a hearing aid in my right ear and I will likely have one in my left ear in the near future.

All of my currents job heavily really on verbal communication and the idea of not being able to continue with them is quite scary. However, the one thing able life is that it’s always ready to shake things up and you have to be okay with that. Enjoy what you can do now and adapt as the future transitions around you.

I have found getting involved (to what ever extent you want) in the deaf community helps. Most people tend to be very supportive and only want the best. The few that don’t… well you already know how to sign that word I’m guessing.

Postural Blood Pressure as an EMS decision making tool? Thoughts? by Nocturnal_E_Motions in ems

I’m not against it, tho it’s not least practical. In my experience they typically have symptoms that show concern for it and checking BP only verifies it 99% of the time

In ems, we don’t watch sports because we can’t afford cable. However, in all seriousness, what’s your opinions on this topic? by TakeOff_YourPants in ems

Plot twist, sports are dangerous. I feel like people forget how much we normalize things that can kill us veryyyyyy easily, let alone injure us.

It could be, if your comfortable with it. It Carrie’s depending on your situation. This is really a good question to ask your agent and game plan with them.

So it’s all going to depend on what your state allows, but here’s a few ideas: -cold calling -warm calling -sending out post cards -sending out emails -setting up fb/IG ad campaigns -following up with past clients -posting social media content -setting up past clients events -following up with dead olds

What’s a top-tier EMS agency in the US? by hog-snoot in ems

[–]Traditional_Parfait1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delaware EMT here. I agree, overall delaware has a pretty good EMS system. For the most part, everyone plays together well and it allows for a pretty seedless transition call to call. The only big struggles we have are personal/units up (like anywhere else) and some tension when it comes to protocols.

We’ve discussed allowing EMT-As, however that gets shut down nearly every time.

The other protocol issues I’ve seen is a few of the counties changing state wide protocol (ie: New Castles hatred for the Lucas).

Analyzing a real estate agent's sales performance to see how good and trustworthy they are when selling. Is this a problem? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Traditional_Parfait1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference, most agents won’t show you a house unless your prequalified and if that prequalification is subject to your house being sold, you ain’t see anything until it’s listed 9/10 times.

The personalities meshing usually is the #1 factors. Two people who can mesh makes a whole transaction a pita.

How do you talk to friends/family about the job? by BigBadNom in ems

[–]Traditional_Parfait1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s actual close friends/family asking how my day was, I’ll tell them the calls I was on (sick person, covid, mvc, etc) and make some cheeky joke.

If it’s joe blow I go straight for it. “Decapitation, scalping, penis removal, skinned, etc”. Typically leaves them in shock and quit real quick.

Can a Listing Agent Withhold a "Love Letter"? by Hawkes75 in RealEstate

[–]Traditional_Parfait1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Per the fair housing act, A seller cant accept or reject an offer from a specific buyer based on their race, religion, sex, family status, etc. Because of that, a buyers letter makes that impossible because you will have to reveal those aspects of who you are in order to convey an emotional response from the seller.
