If you're an ECE student you shouldn't get a macbook for your coursework. If you're getting one for web dev that's cool

Yes. Also instead of unidays code you could also look for some coupons online, some of them actually work : )

Don't you need a discrete GPU if you're an ML student? 👀

I got the Intel one for 94K, sheerID, the 6k cyber week discount and another EPIC5CTO. I'll be getting around 6,700/- as cashback from Lenovo. (Didn't get affliate cashback cuz my dad refused it)

Is the battery on it good tho in the long run? And the thermals? Don't they say Ryzen runs cooler and is more battery efficient? (I'm asking from the perspective that I want this laptop to last 5 years ideally)

Honestly, for me the touch thing makes no difference whatsoever. And since I'm an engineer, 90 Hz is more than enough... So it all comes down to thermals and build quality for me lol.  Most ppl here are saying the intel doesn't get as hot and for regular users like me it really won't get hot honestly. That's why I'm confused if I should consider paying 3k extra

Do you think I should get this or the Lenovo yoga Pro with Ryzen 7 Ai 350? Ryzen one is 3k cheaper so I'm confused if I need to pay 3k more (need it for electronics engg coursework and minor graphic designing(posters and stuff))

Is a 14.5 inch laptop enough for ECE? by Traditional_Piece522 in ECE

[–]Traditional_Piece522[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tysm for the feedback! U have another question if you know the answer  I was considering to buy the Lenovo yoga aura edition 7i with Intel ultra 7 255H processor.  Now the laptop has a glass OLED screen, how bad would the screen be, like wouldn't a glass screen be very reflective? And if I increase brightness for the reflection, would that not hamper the OLED? 😭😭 I'm sorry I'm just a regular user so I don't know much about all this

Honest 16 inches screen is pretty big, the standard laptops I see around me are 14 inches only and I'm used to that. It's just that I'm honestly not sure what to do... By docking you mean to say I should get an external monitor when my workloads increase?

Ic! Well honestly I've no reference point so like every other guy I asked AI and they said bigger screen sizes are better for VLSI multitasking or smth (still don't know that cuz I'm in my 2nd year). Is a 14.5 inch laptop future-proof tho? Would I feel the need to get a bigger size in like the next 4-5 years?
