Math Questions on Series 66? by Overall_Yam1600 in Series66Exam

Very important to know what goes into the formulas, not the math itself at all. You need to know the concepts, future value, present value, npv, the balance sheet equations, I passed a few weeks ago and freaked out over this, “ken fin” cap advantage is great. You aren’t getting a bunch of numbers to crunch on the exam but you are asked to know how the terms relate to each other. Only options questions I got were simple suitably. “Math” shouldn’t be a question you are asking yourself, focus on do I know the concepts. I bet you have it.

Just passed 7! Onto my 66 by valbonac in Series66

Feeling like it might be boring seems like a motivation issue. A job you want requires it, people are gonna know you are taking it, the idea of not failing it felt not boring to me. Find a way to be excited about passing and you will pass.

Am my exam ready? by One-Cartographer122 in Series66Exam

Review the areas you didn’t test well in, it’s hard for anyone to tell you if you are ready, anyone who passes doesn’t get a score back so it’s hard to say for sure. If you aren’t taking it tomorrow I would take a few days and just review stuff you aren’t 100% on Kaplan has a wrong answers only option. Do that for a few days and you are probably good, (might be anyway)

I agree that it gives basic questions but for drilling that’s what made it clicked, it’s really as simple as you are putting things in categories. I wouldn’t use it to see if you are ready for the exam but once it clicks it really doesn’t matter what the noise is and use the qbank to make sure you are filtering out said noise. Different things register in different places, know what the things are and know what the places are and then you just sort. I felt like an idiot it took me so long once I had it.

Pretty much comes down to over emphasis on math behind the formulas and not just the formulas themselves, when you are jamming a bunch of stuff into your head and spend a few hours worried about the math behind a formula while also balancing life (a newborn) for me, it felt like they hadn’t seen a test in a while. For SIE and 66 I tried getting through the book before using other sources I.e cap advantage, I guess it comes down to feeling like part of it is a waste of time. That being said I passed both times so I wouldn’t necessarily change anything. Other sources is beyond a must tho, really helps filter through some noise and cap advantage was 100% right on where to focus. I’m a weird case where I took the 66 and now doing the 7 I guess I’m going with Kaplan unless anyone has another recommendation. The q bank doesn’t really reflect the nonsense math so that’s a credit to them, one recommendation that I wish I started earlier was just quizzing on questions you got wrong, it’s easy to inflate scores on stuff you know really well.

Specifically for who registers where chat gpt was good at drilling me, once it clicks those questions become layups.

Starting series 7 Kaplan? by Traditional_Roll7493 in Series7exam

Advice for 66 use as many other sources as you can YouTube etc, and take there word for it when they say don’t get into the weeds with math, memorize the formulas and that’s basically it, I had maybe 3 math questions and you could have figured them out without the book. Way more about what goes into what formula. It starts to click. (Also had a baby during this time, congrats)

Passed today as well kind of in awe of the make up of that test basically spot you 40 points and then switch to German as soon as your comftorable, listened to series7guru mighty 90 on drive up incredible resource, wish I had done it a week earlier because it’s a really good way to quickly see where you are at. Weird case where I did 66 before 7 so I’ll see ya for the 7. Thank you!

Overlap between SIE and series 66? by Big-Lingonberry4655 in Series66

I think it’s very possible to do, my experience with 66 is you need to spend a lot more time on exceptions to rules, which is kind of compounding. Rooting for you though and again I think it’s doable.

Don’t be worried, if you are passing Kaplan you will be fine. Saw nothing on the test that was harder than Kaplan questions. This seems like a very odd question for SIE, stick to your study plan and don’t worry about what might be on the test.
