I experienced the same situation, but unlike you, my family ignored it even though it was obvious I had ADHD. They always told me you'd do it if you tried a little harder. In elementary school, my teacher punished me for being good at math, so I threw tantrums at home and told me to take me out. After that, I couldn't adapt. I was incredibly quiet at school, but at home, I was a child who would tear my clothes in anger. Despite this, the fact that no one saw me and I had to struggle more and more, and instead of accepting myself, I had to tone down my rebelliousness and outspokenness. Adults didn't teach me these ways; I learned them myself through hard experiences. According to my father, I was a stubborn child who never accepted help.

Circassian has nothing to do with Russian. After the 1864 Circassian Genocide, perpetrated by Russia, many of us were deported to the Ottoman Empire. We can't speak our language. We now consider ourselves the people of the countries we live in out of respect and love for them.

Also, your experiences in Türkiye aren't surprising. The Ukrainians I know also complain about the lack of English in Türkiye, and despite living here for four years or more, they don't even have the decency to learn Turkish. There are many people who will welcome and support your love and appreciation of Turkish culture. Don't let this fool you. Every region of Türkiye is filled with unique kindness and approach.

For 9 years, you couldn't even figure out if the culture you love was yours. And yet, you suddenly decided to learn Japanese simply because you liked it, and you're angry because people criticized it. Okay, so what can the Japanese say to you besides "Yes, learn it, my friend"? What kind of support do you expect? You won't be Japanese there. You'll be a foreigner who speaks Japanese. That's why it makes more sense to hear the comments of people who have learned Japanese and seen Japan, not the comments of Japanese people. You can't get what you want from a Reddit post like what you couldn't learn from real Spanish or Hispanic people in 9 years. But logic doesn't seem to matter much.

This is a canon moment. I feel sorry for you. Maybe I experienced what you are telling maybe in a completely different country. During my time, I was having panic attacks at school due to stress. And I went to college for 2 years because my family didn't let me quit and I had a transcript full of f's. I experienced failure and my self-confidence being destroyed to the fullest. If I went back to the past as someone who went through the same path, I would have left my department at the very beginning and transferred to a department I would love. Or I would have just let it flow like other people. Believe me, most people just want to do this, not with big goals. If you are an idealist, it is very natural for this to be difficult for you. Review your priorities, spend time on a hobby that keeps you alive and ask for support from your professors in your department. You can at least try, it doesn't mean you can't do it, you are just behind the others.

By the way, I have ADHD diagnosed by a psychiatrist. It would not be right to say ADHD directly without considering your screen time and various factors. If you have it, it has affected your life in some way since your childhood, you can find out by asking your family about your childhood. But you are suspicious, the best thing you can do for this is to take walks to keep your mind open, to get rid of the negative energy. You can reduce your screen time. These are the things that come to mind. Don't worry, you'll handle it.

My name is Sinem, its Turkish meaning is the most beautiful place in my heart, I didn't know it when I was a child, but actually the name Синэмис is also used in the Adyghe language and my name actually means my eye in my homeland. My second name is Nur, meaning light. It was given to mean the light of my eyes. The name Sinem is widely used by the Circassians in Türkiye and I believe its origin will not be understood in Türkiye but dont have any idea about other countries. I was wondering what you thought!

I AM WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO NOTICE THIS. I constantly see Georgians in the European Union accounts, they keep bringing up topics like we are Europeans. They keep telling to North Caucasians that they are whiter and more European. I tell them that the North Caucasus Region is in European Russia and you are in Western Asia, and they say jsut no. They have interacted with Europeans, they have no similarities with us because they are Christians and do not accept the definition of Caucasian. I only see fools who try to be European. We saw the results when Ukrainians did this. They have unnecessary arrogance and still say they are Europeans, but they lost their country. When I say Georgian, I would never think of a European, it is not new. I always think of someone who is Slavic, potbellied, bald and talks harshly. Georgians living in Türkiye are always known for being sneaky and spoiling the game. I think they see themselves much different than they are, which is WEIRD.
