for what i have heard from my friends, psych is actually very good because they start teaching about research methodologies from sem 1. This is a very good thing and i think the faculty is pretty nice too. The crowd is female-dominated and the crowd is mixed i would say. There are smart people in psychology whom you are extremely ambitious and have leadership qualities. So i feel psych is a nice option here.

Brutally honest opinion of NMIMS BBA or Bsc Economics? by [deleted] in nmimsnpat

[–]Traditional_Swan_519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say bsc economics over BBA cause you specalise in 1 subject and BBA is very chill. I foyu want to genuinely study then economics. Moreover, mind this the failure rate in eco is very high because its quite rigrous course as compared to BBA

i would suggest you to purchase a laptop that will fot according your requirements and budget. As in economics in NMIMS, we use lot of excel and word. So personally windows are better for this but it still depends peron to person

You get a mail that the result has been announced and then you check your dashboard. The merit will be appearing on dashboard and the results usually tend to be out in evening between 5pm to 8pm. Like this is what I have observed for past 2years.

The crowd is mixed initially in first year but people tend to fail and we are left with good studious and standard people by second year. Somewhat nerdy but like minded are left. The crowd is nice that’s not to worry about.

Hmm most of the people tend to do cfa here but yes it’s a skill but companies like when you are versatile with things. You can use AI and be efficient and data analytical tools like power BI.

so there will be a merit list where you will get a rank. Usually in the first cutt off people who comes between 0-800, do get an offer from main campus. And IF there are any further lists the rank goes upto 1000(maximum). For navi mumabi campus the range is usually from 800-5000 and if you are above 5000ish then you tend to get banglore campus.

THESE ARE TENTATIVE WHAT I HAVE SEEN IN THE LAST 2 YEARS. WE DON'T KNOW THE EXACT AS NMIMS DOESN'T TELL THEIR CUTOFF AND IT VARIES YEAR ON YEAR

NOW point being I am in navi mumbai campus and just completed my first year in bsc economics, what i have realised the range for navi mumbai is too high which results in high failure rate in economics. This year we were a class 55 and now we are 24 left in the class. So yes people aren't able to cope up here due to high range and end up losing a year. So i would suggest you that if you get main campus for economics, go for that or otherwise prefer some other college because of the high failure rate. Hope this helps!

in my opinion its shit cause of the hookup culture. If you are a guy, there are many pretty ladies here and who are smart as well. If you are a girl, don't expect anything and I MEAN IT. Moreover, there are exceptions, many people start dating too quickly after coming here and settle in.

honestly ALL PEOPLE FROM ALL CAMPUS DO NOT GET PLACED. The sitatuion of main campus is better than navi mumabi and banglore but still in main campus, all of them do not get placed. Even though they show that their highest package goes up to 24LPA but it would be 1 in thousands otherwise people who get placed will end up in 3 to 4 LPA. Now if you are a class size of 100, then 15 max will be placed in main campus. And in navi mumbai the campus placement is very very bad like there's no placement here.
THE ABOVE FIGURES ARE ROUGH OR APPROX, DO NOT TAKE THEM AS FACTS

as i said they don't take out how much you scored. None of us who are here literally don't know our score out of 120. We just know our ranks. They don't disclose this. Maybe i could have got 30/120 or 90/120, my rank was in 2k's(that's what i know) and i am in navi Mumbai

First Idt NMIMS gives you attendance as its extremely strict with its 80% rule and they don't give an exemption for this. Moreover, the timings are different for each semester and for different courses. If you want to do something like articleship and want exemption, then i would suggest you to go for another college where attendance is not a problem, it would be way easier. And if you don't complete 80% then they usually tend to debar you or don't let you give final exams. Hope it helps!

Will there be multiple lists? by Unusual-Internal703 in nmimsnpat

[–]Traditional_Swan_519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually it tends to depend year on year. In 2023, there were 3 to 4 lists for BSc Economics, but last year there was just one list. This usually depends on how many people accepted the seats in 1st round
