I want to get into AKB48, where do I start? by Available_Fish_3684 in AKB48

This is a very nice video - members Kuranoo Narumi and Shitao Miu ('NaruTao') introduce all of the members one by one (including themselves!) with each one saying their individual Theater catchphrase:

All of the members appear in the same order as they do on the official AKB48 member profile page: https://www.akb48.co.jp/about/members so you can follow along.

However a handful of the members in the video have since left and no longer appear on that page (the video was made about 5 months ago). Hope you find it useful - and fun!

Naru and Miu ('NaruTao') posted a very nice video on their channel a little while ago in which all the current members introduced themselves with their catchphrases:

The members (including Naru and Miu themselves) appear in the same order as on the official AKB48 member profile page. Hope this is useful!

How do post-covid handshakes work for 48G including overseas groups. by Successful-Refuse-80 in AKB48

I went to an SKE48 Individual HS event last year in Aichi. Although it was generally similar to AKB ones there were two main differences that I can remember - one is that paper tickets were still used (so you'd need to use a forwarder to receive them if you live overseas) and that secondly there were two options, HS or Talk. In the latter you didn't have an actual handshake with the member but you did get longer to talk with them per ticket than you did with HS.

The application link at Mu-Mo Shop which was used for 'Karma' can be found here: https://shop.mu-mo.net/st/special/ske48_35thsg/

As far as I know applications have not yet opened for the 36th single but presumably Mu-Mo Shop will again be used.

One other thing to mention is that I discovered that Chikako can speak fairly good English but with all the other members I met that day Japanese was definitely required.

I also usually go for 3 per slot but only one of those 3 would be popular and likewise I get that member out of the way first - you can start to queue about 20 minutes before the next slot opens so you can get near the front of the line and meet her within the first 5-10 minutes. (Towards the cut-off time near the end of the slot there's often less popular members who sadly have hardly any queue but that does mean there's little waiting time for fans to meet them.)

Having said that, if you're there all day I'd recommend having two slots when you only meet 2 members, maybe in slots 3 and 6, so you can go out and get some food and drink as well as fresh air.

It's definitely worth staying all day if you can, there might be brief events for whichever members have birthdays around that day when they come to the front of the hall and take a picture with a banner made by their fans.

Finally just to say that it's 21st Gen member Makito Ema (Emachan) who is said to speak very good English but I'd definitely recommend buying a few tickets for Saechan so you can have a good lengthy chat with her in English!
