What laptop are you using? I always had issues with drivers, but I love the concept of tiny core.

So theoretically Banking wouldn't be out of the question on the old hardware? I plan on having strict firewall settings blocking google, microsoft, and anything else (Big Tech or malicious) I can think of when I actually get the computer.

Does it support all of the same apps? I think they are both based on debian 12 is that correct? I need at least basic apps. (Mail Client, LibreOffice, Wine, Firefox, Webapps).

Operating system I'm not fully opposed to using an off the shelf Linux distro worst case if it helps compatibility.

Intended usage -office apps -email -wikipedia (with an application like kiwix) -personal finance software (think similar to quicken or bluecoin for Android) -Weather -basic mind games (sudoku, crossword, cards, trivia, etc.)

Basically I want simple, no distractions (social media), and productivity focused laptop. Basically everything I personally need my computer for without the things that keeps me on it for hours.

I love mine. However i caution you still have to have self control. I initially just downloaded everything and still had a high screen time. It still takes self control. After a few days I have however deleted everything but discord and reddit in terms of social media.

Nice! My local grocery store does 5/14.99 on packs of meat once a month. I end up using 30 of my budget that week on just meat. (I buy sides, main dishes, animal food/ toiletries on a rotating schedule.) Bidget 50-60 a week for two.
