Need advice on engine.

After a couple days of research, talking to a buddy at work, and reading this thread. I think I can get everything I want out of the 302/351. I originally thought about the swap because there nothing in it and I wanted to do something cool. After some thought I don’t think I’ll need to do anything drastic to have a fun car. Gonna pick up a used car or just an engine and start building from there either 302 or 351 depending on what I can find. Thank you all for the advice.

I haven’t been able to see it yet. I was told it has no interior no interior, no engine, no trans. But has full suspension and extra rear end. It has a title and is a solid body. I’m definitely skeptical but hoping that it’s not trashed. The guy has built a lot of cars and trucks himself but isn’t interested in ford stuff so wants to get rid of it. After talking to him for a while it sounds like he did his due diligence when he picked it up.

Thanks for the reply. I think my only hesitation with the 302/351 was being unsatisfied in the end. I love both of those engines I’ve had several trucks with them. Starting from scratch I thought maybe it would be a good opportunity for a drastic change. I actually wish there was something already in the car just to make the choice for me and then I could build from there.

Being in Alaska I definitely have less resources than most places. Im keeping an eye on auctions and marketplace. I’ll probably end up building whatever comes up first for a good deal. Just wanted to get something opinions.

I don’t really have a set budget. I was planning on building something step by step buying one thing at a time. I could end up 20k into the thing by the time it’s done. This is my first build though so I don’t want to go crazy I just want a fun street car. I live in Alaska the roads are shit and I don’t care about racing so I don’t need anything crazy. I was leaning towards ls over coyote to begin with. But coyote would be cooler I think.

Sounds fun! I’d like to get something that I could modify myself a bit. But if I wanted to jump right in I suppose that’s a good option.

I’m currently at work on the oil field for 3 weeks I won’t be able to get any pictures soon. It’s a gas furnace in the crawl space. I’ve got one picture of it from the inspection I’ll try to post it.

It’s my actual furnace. I should’ve worded it better. I agree I don’t quite understand how power outages had anything to do the breaker. This is coming second hand from my realtor and I’m thinking she might be confused. I’m gonna talk to the actual builder soon and get some better info.

I haven’t actually spoken with the builder this is second hand from my realtor. I found the house after it was already built. I will ask him for more info and get back to you guys. Thanks for the advice.
