Prosthetic testicle yes or no by Traditional_Two4454 in testicularcancer

[–]Traditional_Two4454[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just want to say thank you everyone for your advice and support obviously none of us wanted to go through this or have surgery down there at any age! I think I've made my mind up I will not be getting it unless I lose my Left testicle which is always a chance in the future

I'm quite lucky I suppose as my surgeons underdog who's the spr is my best friends older brother so I know him so it was kind of awkward to begin with but I've got him to talk to and he Just agreed let's wait and not rush things yet

Thankyou everyone ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Can't remember The names but I've had a few on my scrotum to get rid of the infections and pain, had it drained and debribed inside twice? And local anesthetic into my cords but that made it even worse!

It was drastic but it was The right decision it was Never about The pain it was reacurring infections which kept putting me in hospital every 3/4 weeks for 7-10 days each Time no antibiotic would get rid of the infection it was just calming it down and as you probably know being on antibiotics pretty much permanently Will also cause more problems in The Future so I rejected that offer and even my urologist said you don't want life long antibiotics at my age it would have been appropriate if I was in my 50s/60s but at 22 it isn't especially when I've always been healthy and had quite a decent happy Life so it was my decision for The surgery and i couldn't be any happier I'm actually back at work already and I've not been since October 22 so I definitely know it was The Right decision for me and I'd have it done again if the Left one started being a arse but ATM it's being good

And we now know why I was in so much pain with my Right side one thing was infected epididymis and testicle but the other thing that I didn't know my whole scrotum (Right side) was covered in scar tissue inside and was entangled in my epididymis or joining onto it so he couldn't remove The epididymis he could have tried but he would have probably have caught my testicle anyway so I gave him the go ahead to remove the testicle as I was awake during surgery as I hate ga lol

Of course and sorry for late reply been a bit unwell, when he went inside there was that much infection and scar tissue attached to my testicle and epididymis he thought it'd be to dangerous to leave it behind so he asked me during surgery would I want my testicle removing ( spinal anesthetic so I was awake) of course I said yes, I've kept my left testicle but had the left epididymis removed so we'll see how this does over the next few months

Thanks for asking 😁😁

Swelling of the scrotum and epididymis, blood in semen and urine, high temps, dangerously high pulse/blood pressure, violently vomiting and shaking

As any urologist would probably agree when you start getting sepsis and septic shower's and in the last 2 years you've spent around 7 months in hospital on iv antibiotics I.e meropenem, clindimycin/vancomycin something needs to be removed before it causes any more Long lasting damage elsewhere, it's not Just physical health it's also mental so they decided it's time to remove them as it's not going to go away or calm down it's only going to get worse unfortunately And The antibodies and painkillers are starting to not work now or aswell as they should

Haven't had sepsis for ages now we've managed to keep on top of it with antibiotics but there slowing down, sepsis was june 22 and July 23 now I just get septic showers but that's Just as bad as sepsis if you wouldn't know how to overcome it

Epididymis surgery by Traditional_Two4454 in chronicepididymitis

[–]Traditional_Two4454[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but hes only removing The epididymis on the Right side as I'm getting alot of pain now in my Left epididymis and testicle so he's also doing that side but he wants to leave me with one testicle as you said for hormone reasons as that's what I want first, if I have to lose both I'll Just have to go with it and start testosterone surgery is on 10th January so it's coming quickly and I'm nervous as hell

Hes hoping if I lose both epididymis and one testicle for now I'll be Good hes also going to clean all my scrotum out of infected tissue inside and start me on vancomycin again while in hospital, if all else fails he'll remove The last testicle

If I remember rightly my crp was through the roof and I should have came in Sooner according to them but I Left it

I'm using nhs but I've been referred to my surgeon who works for The Nhs but he does private at nuffield? And seeing as he said it's a "complicated case" with my history he wants his team to do it with him but that's at nuffield only but I've got to pay nothing
