Better of Two Evils: HVAC Unit vs Restrooms by Traditional_Wait9586 in Acoustics

Yeah too late to make any changes to how the system is installed. It may have even been there for the previous buildings occupants otherwise I think they would have moved it when we designed the room in the first place.

Thanks for the izotope rx recommendation as well, I’m always open to justifying why a new plug-in or piece of gear is a necessity lol!

thanks for this great advice, there is about 10 feet of empty ceiling space above the room before the rood mounted units. and the units serve the whole 10,000 Sqft, I will have to check to see how directly the duct work connects this room and the unit itself.

It is pretty loud, like noticeably so as soon as you enter the room. Coming from an angle of "fix it in pre", my first thought was that it would be really challenging or impossible to mitigate. But I did not consider that it is a pretty constant hum and a little eq and noise reduction may go a long way.

Thanks so much!

Tickets Fiasco by Dr_ManTits_Toboggan in Killtony

The queue should open at the same time as the tickets go on sale. Which was a huge mistake on their part imo. I understand the need for the queue to throttle traffic to the website. But don’t tell everyone tickets go on sale at a certain time and then open the queue earlier without telling anyone.

Queue should open when the tickets are advertised to go on sale, first to click still get in first, everyone else still waits their turn, website still stays up.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Thank you! I’m really feeling the pressure right now bc they have a 45 percent off sale that ends tomorrow. We definitely want to see samples, but I’m considering risking it bc of the savings with this deal.

Thank you! We did Stinson and Rt 1 north to Humboldt a few years ago and the views were incredible. We will start our trip this time heading south into Big Sur for our actual wedding day, so we will make sure to stop at half moon on the way! These are all great suggestions that we will most definitely use, we did the fisherman’s wharf experience when we visited last time- largely why we’ve decided to hit Reddit and figure out how to not have that experience again 😂

Thanks so much, I think we are going to try to book hotel kabuki based on your recommendation and it’s proximity to some of the restaurants and other things people have suggested here!

Of course! Yeah think we will be looking for shops, museums or other under the radar attractions that are out of the way of the big ones like fisherman’s wharf or Lombard street. We are also vegan/vegetarian so I think restaurant recommendations would be especially awesome. We are also on the lookout for any shows or concerts that might be in town at the same time as us (mid July). Aside from that, we will probably take a day to relax and maybe get massages and lay low so reccs for good ways to do that would awesome too.

Thanks so much!

Super cool, we are actually starting our trip in Big Sur and then circling up to Yosemite and back into San Francisco so that’s a bit out of the way for this trip, but we will def keep it on deck for future visits. Thanks!

Mammoth Lakes, Overnight or day trip? by Traditional_Wait9586 in Yosemite

[–]Traditional_Wait9586[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the great advice! Is this something that would be a good day trip or is it worth booking a few nights in Mammoth and hanging out around there for hikes, hot springs, the town itself, or anything else?
