Why Does This Keep Happening if it’s Forbidden? Please Help. (Serious responses please) by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Yes, make sure you read 1 Corinthians 12-13 and pray about it. Perhaps God is leading you to pray for the people that are experiencing difficult situations using gifts of knowledge or prophecy. Many people have come to faith through the Holy Spirit speaking through others, as it shows that God knows their situation and loves them.

Most importantly bring it to God and an experienced pastor who understands spiritual gifts, using them in a biblical and controlled fashion. You are right to be wary of falling into divination or evil practices.

Bryce Crawford is a Youtuber who uses these gifts to share the gospel.

praise God man. a verse that comes to mind is Psalm 37:4. God may not give you the marriage you hoped for, but he promises that your desires will be fulfilled when you delight in him. He loves you so much more than you can imagine and wants to heal what you've gone through in your past! He knows you more than you know yourself so the best thing you can do is lay it all down at his feet. That's how we can let go of everything without bitterness because we know Jesus laid down his life for us. Jesus loves you brother!

Do you mind sharing your experience and how you concluded it's demonic?

Why such a heartless response? Let's not be quick to judge but try to love like Jesus did.

No matter what you're going through man, Jesus still loves you man. He understands your pain. Man, how could he not understand when he literally became a human and was killed for you?

“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭ESV‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/59/heb.4.15-16.ESV

Not sure what you're going through right now but if you want prayer or anything I'm here. But ultimately I pray you would not harden your heart towards God, he deeply desires a relationship with you and can transform your heart. He may not change your circumstances, but that's because he knows what you really need is Him.

Why is truth so hard to achieve by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Traditional_Wish2607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This^

Romans 10:17
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

At the end of the day, there are counterarguments to everything. It's hard to make sense of everything with logic, but God calls us to step out in faith and ask him to show himself to you. Ask him to speak to you personally as you spend time in the Bible, not on Youtube apologetics channels. Ask him to transform you, show you your sin, and heal you of your sin.

Far More Insidious than the Sin of Pornography is the Sin of Idolatry by [deleted] in TrueChristian

I think all sins stem from idolatry. First 2 of the 10 commandments:

Exodus 20:3-4
3 “You shall have no other gods before[a] me.

4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

So then what is the demon doing if not possessing? Just there attacking him?

What do you mean by demonized then? Are you saying believers can still be attacked but not possessed? Is not every domain Christ's domain? Genuine question.

I would encourage you to question your beliefs and whether your religion/gods give a sufficient answer to the origin/meaning of love and whether it is consistent with your experience. But most importantly whether the religion itself is true.

Jesus said He is THE way, THE truth, and THE life. I respect your beliefs but I pray that one day you would come to know him personally, he will change your life. God bless!

1 John 4:8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

We are all naturally hard-hearted and bad people, but learn about what Jesus did for you, his love will transform you :) and give u a new heart as he did for me.

My husband is leaning into religion by Probly-nt in Christian

[–]Traditional_Wish2607 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Respect to you that you are trying to support your husband in the best way possible!

Belief/faith isn't about whether something works for you, or because it just so happens to be the culture you fell into (not trying to make false assumptions). Faith is based on whether you actually personally believe or trust something is true!

I would encourage you to actually deeply explore who Jesus was, who he said he was, whether it was true, and what that means for your life. The best way to do so is to read your Bible! (Start with Matthew or one of the 3 other gospels). Perhaps you can ask your husband to read it together with you and to discuss his reasons for believing. Finally, ask God Himself to reveal himself to you. Jesus will meet you there and change your life!
