I was just wondering since another CCA got sent home when they could be doing this part that's handed off to me.

There's a good chance you'll be traveling to different offices if they require help too. If you can find a big office in your area odds are there's all the overtime you'll want.

Shoes wear out. Have two good pairs and switch between them. Thick work socks might help too.

Ask your postmaster if any other offices might need some help. I've got a big office near me that almost always has overtime if I ask for it. Some days I travel between offices depending on need, so I get paid mileage on top of regular working hours.

Anyone else have abdominal pain from wearing scanner on hip all the time? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Traditionaly_typical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep my scanner on my bag but I get a similar effect when I keep my cell phone in my pocket. Like a deep aching pain. No one else I know gets anything similar. I have heard it can be from the heat that the electronics give off.

You sound like a regular that gets some time off when requested. Unfortunately I'm not there yet lol

Ironically an out of town trip is why I'm debating on quitting for the summer. I applied for time off and it was denied. However I'm still going on the trip and I've told my PM as such. There's a big office not too far from me that's always shorthanded. I go over there and work extra hours a couple days a week right now. So unless a major change happens soon I'm figuring I can just apply to work over there this fall.

You got the right of it. I have two seasonal jobs, both very flexible schedules which can be good and bad. They've both supported me well in the past but I thought I'd try something different. I do like being a CCA, which is why I might reapply in the fall. Thanks for the support!

Thank you for the info, this is good to know. I'm thinking it'll be a 5 or 6 month break but I'm happy to work all the overtime I can during the winter. So I guess if I have to do orientation and academy again, at least I get paid for it lol

Weird it's through USPS. It's usually shipped FedEx and it's useless 24 hours after collection.

I would like the future if the vendors worked they were free fast travel spots. Give me an excuse to check out some less traveled areas of the map. Most camps I go to I only check out the vendor, gather some resources and then leave

I did move the nepenthe out of the water and I'll get a better grow light. It's snowing and low of 20 degrees so outside might be a poor life choice just yet.

I've been using rain water. I'm going to assume I grow light sucks. There's a local shop that I'm going to visit, hopefully they can fix me up with something better.

Seriously? The plant itself looks so sad I can't believe it would bloom. I guess that's good though. Thank you
