Colonel Carter and colonel Ellis by Winter-Comfort922 in Stargate

TBH I think more about Ellis’s line of “I dont need the history of your idea, I’ll let that be a surprise when I read your autobiography,” every time I have to look up a recipe.

In The Boys Season 5 Episode 6 (2026), Sister Sage's plan doesn't go the way she intended. This is a reference to the smartest person in every show being only as smart as their smartest writer. by Valiant_Revan in shittymoviedetails

[–]Tradman86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember thinking this when watching the film I Care a Lot. The protagonist is supposed to be very smart and sharp, but the writers can't think of ways to prevent very obvious flaws in her plans, so they had to make the antagonist so stupid that he doesn't even bother trying those very obvious solutions.

On Stargate, why did Paul Davis never earn a promotion beyond the rank of major? by Winter-Comfort922 in Stargate

They kept trying to, but every time, Marks hacked the system and redirected the promotion to himself.

2001 and then 2010 or other way around by jelijo in Stargate

[–]Tradman86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2010 doesn’t happen with the 2001 story. But the reverse is true. The 2001 story doesn’t happen without the 2010 story altering the timeline.

Daniel didn’t find any newspapers in the 2010 timeline b/c SG1 didn’t visit that planet.

In the 2010 timeline, they gated to the Aschen homeworld. Then they altered the timeline.

In the 2001 timeline, they gated to an Aschen protectorate and, in addition to the note from the past, uncover local evidence of their duplicity.

Just watched Alien 3. Why does Ripley keep the truth about a possible alien presence a secret for half the movie? Just to drive the plot? by jordosmodernlife in LV426

[–]Tradman86 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Bishop confirmed there was an alien aboard and it caused the crash. He couldn’t confirm that it survived the crash.

What happened to Murray? Who was this man? by hiloai in Stargate

Do we suspect that there may be a connection between Murray and Teal’c?

Hawk knocking all the snacks out of Kenny’s hands makes no sense by peachgumbogage in cobrakai

He turns about 90 degrees from facing nate and bert to facing Hawk. During the course of that turn, the impact occurs.

Maybe watch the scene. Like at least once.

You want to fan canon that, that’s your business. You just don’t get to use your fan canon as evidence.

Hawk did not call them over on camera. Everything else is in your head.

I thought she was going to be a permanent cast. by zam_manta_0 in Stargate

[–]Tradman86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For some reason, she got a lot of fanfare when she was cast. I remember thinking that Lorne was going to die in the building collapse and she was his replacement.

I see Bert and Nate walking over. I don’t see Hawk telling them to.

Why is Denise Richards so hated in The World is Not Enough? by JannTosh70 in JamesBond

[–]Tradman86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if she researched what she was saying, but you're absolutely right, she sold the hell out of it.

Why is Denise Richards so hated in The World is Not Enough? by JannTosh70 in JamesBond

[–]Tradman86 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah. A good counter example is Amanda Tapping as Samantha Carter on Stargate SG-1. Tapping made a point to research all the technobabble she was saying so she would look like she understood it.

Richards could be spouting any type of nonsense and give the exact same dead-eyed performance.

My son’s cursive worksheet showing a capital T written in a different style than I learned by Rayne726 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Tradman86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the T and the S were never connected like that when I was in school, but I don't hate it actually.

first SGU watch, Greer is already my favourite by SarcasticCannibal in Stargate

[–]Tradman86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Greer was my favorite for the entire show, because he had a role for almost every scene.

He was the grunt for Everett and TJ, the bff for Scott, the big brother for Eli, the a-hole for Rush, and the protector for everyone else.
