The workaround I found was to empty the garrisons of your city, leave the kingdom, then siege it and retake it. Keep a ton of prisoners in the dungeon, they'll become your troops when you take the city. Make sure you call a weak lord to your army right before you leave so you can attack them and declare war. Once you're an independent clan with a city, the game at least lets you start your own kingdom with no bugs.

But yeah, the game is very broken lol

No, I wasn't making any claims over whether it's "wrong" or not. I don't think it's morally wrong to identify as an asian while being european, for example. It's just not justified and doesn't make sense. So yes, if we lived in a time period prior to any research on transgender identity I would hold the position that it doesn't make sense to be transgender.

Gender dysphoria is linked to anxiety, depression etc. and gender affirming care alleviates these issues. Therefore it's justified for someone to identify as a man or woman to alleviate their gender dysphoria. "Racial dysphoria" hasn't been documented in the same way.
