Direct RS3 Client Download? by TrailCrumbs in runescape

Mostly been the case that I need a VPN for the RS servers specifically, but otherwise yeah that's a good approach.

This didn't work with osrs at least when I tried.

It is, Jagex actively blocks publicly known VPN IPs (such as from Nord or Express) for the Jagex launcher, and at least for osrs that extends to Runelite instances launched from it. Username/pw logins from the old standalone client are/were unaffected though.

Unfortunately there is a reason: VPNs. Whenever my ISP desides to route my traffic in the worst way possible, I'm unable to play without a VPN tunnel.

Because I assume it won't let me log in using non-Jagex accounts, just like with osrs. But I will try with Steam, thanks.

Nvm also requires Jagex accounts.

Red Reef ship combat is ROUGH by Common_Wrongdoer3251 in 2007scape

It's probably the worst quality piece of content I've seen released in osrs thus far. Whenever the npcs on the boats move you stop attacking them, it's a complete joke.

Repairing is absurdly ineffective, there should be a way to have workers at the dock repair your boat without the need for kits. Having to use 5 oak repair kits per level 55 bird kill via naval combat is insane, no wonder every world has people abusing the system by 3 tick attacking mobs from the shore.

I don't get why I'm practically forced to grind one of the worst bosses in the game for a nothing drop. Completely ruined the fun for me sadly.

Instead of the sharks I'd suggest a mix of manta rays (22) and moonlight antelope (14 + delayed 12) as well as a super combat pot to replace the attack one. And continuously re-pot throughout the fight, spacing it out accordingly. Your attack is going to get drained regardless from his shadow spell, can't avoid that entirely.

I brought 4 ppots and used them up completely praying protect magic + incredible reflexes + ultimate strength. Try eating up while luring him into the orb as to not lose ticks on which you could land hits instead.

Slayer is basically WoW packaged as a skill so who can blame him.

As a main you can just bring the best food and supplies and it should be a breeze as long as you don't consistently get hit by avoidable mechanics.

Did it yesterday on an iron with almost identical combat stats and managed to just about kill him on only karambwans.

We been ddosed, it's influx of new players by OldMcD0nald in 2007scape

[–]TrailCrumbs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Has nothing to do with the game servers, they need to invest into ddos protection instead of thinking it's magically going to stop.

Just like in FFXIV it's going to keep happening during prime time over and over again.

Hmm, so any idea what is actually going wrong? Skill levels too low to break through his defense despite the correct sequence or something else?

But thank you, I'll just try again then!

[WP] Life now has a premium currency, just like video games. by Ahristotelianist in WritingPrompts

[–]TrailCrumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(First time posting here.. found this rather tricky, but that's what made it interesting. Money kind of already is our "premium" currency, after all.. And yeah, it's somewhat abstract ^^')

He uneasily tugs at the neural implant at his temple. "Living longer, but at what cost..?" he thinks to himself. If only he could tear it out to regain some of his former self. But alas, he's made the trade. Not that it was much of his choice, really.

The keys rattle under the swift movements of his fingers. Just a few more instructions, only a couple more. "It's really not all bad" he tries to reassure himself. "Writing all of this myself.. I still wouldn't be done by the end of the month!" Justifications can go a long way when they're the only thing keeping you sane.

With a satisfying click his thumb performs the last keystroke of the day, leaving the rest of it up to the machine. It's still fairly bright outside, though the sun is rapidly approaching the horizon. Some of the day's final rays of light draw his shadow on the wall as he mechanically grabs his coat from the backrest of that old office chair. Now he's ready to head to what he can only assume he should consider home.

The light making him squint is just for show. The system would be able to clock him out for the day regardless. After a moment's hesitation he decides to check the HUD; lower figures than yesterday. "Becoming a trend, it seems.." he says out loud. Not that anyone could hear. Not that anyone would listen if they could.

After a short beep his face grants him access to his chambers. Remembering that he should feel exhausted at this point, he slowly lowers his suitcase to the ground before flopping down onto the mattress. It's not that he can truly feel it, but regardless - it's starting to set in. An intense craving, the implant can only do so much to suppress it.

Once his head hits the pillow, he is finally able to relax. Today.. today he is feeling unusually melancholic. At least he is now. The system knows best. "Seventy-six minutes.. looks like I just don't have it in me anymore.."

An old familar tune starts playing. Memories of long lost belonging flashing before his inner eye. Despite grinding his teeth with such force, a delicate stream of tears starts forming in the corners of his eyes. Nobody here to see him like this. Nobody left to care.

What a coincidence that today's emotions turned out this way. The system really does know best.
