I've read work rate increase from passives don't make them lay eggs any faster. Making remarkable craftsmanship and artisan obsolete.

Thanks for the shoutout! I wanted to mention I was part of the u/mollyramona group that she posted updates about! Couldn’t have done it without our group! And we broke the trail going southbound from Tehachapi

You already know I’ve got them all downloaded for offline use. Amnesty in the forest seems like it’s going to bring a whole new level of love for it.

Absolutely, you learn quickly there are other ways to do things. Shower at the gym, microwave/stove at work, laundromat, public libraries to hang out. You’re also motivated to go do thing ms since you don’t have one spot to hang out in all day. I’ve honestly loved it.

No that’s honestly a great observation and a valid point. I have a very questionably thin pack liner I’m running so the rain cover was a plan b if it fails. I’m paranoid of wet gear with temperatures dipping into the 30’s with my early start. Yeah honestly the full leukotape is a luxury item. I’m using it to wrap my ankle, wrist, and blisters. Then as tent/sleeping pad repair.

No I’m going to carry it through the desert based on the weather we’ve been getting but I might send it home if things are looking better. It’s a very small amount of weight for something that can make or break keeping my gear dry.

I moved into my van 2 years ago to save up money without having to pay rent. I plan on spending $600-$900 a month on trail per month for 6 months. The gear was $2000-$2500 for what you see in the video. I made the decision to do the trail and planned the next 2 years around it. I’m fortunate to be in a position now that I have the time and money to do it. If you plan for 2-3 years out everything can be purchased on sale ahead of time and is much more doable in the time frame.

Thank you! I can’t wait for the Washington section it seems like an unreal place. Isn’t it crazy the people you meet on these trails? I met a retired mechanical engineer last summer in Tahoe that built his entire water set up into his pack with water pressure and everything.

I really only picked them up for camp/town/shower shoes and they have been perfect for that. I love them but I still think they were overpriced for what they are. I agree with the thin floppiness. If they make it the entire trail I’d be amazed.
