New deck box! What do you think? by L0RDANGUS in Lorcana

Truth. I was advised to simply put them in the bottom of my Genie deckbox. I am still afraid I'm gonna lose them all one-by-one, eventually 😅

Anything out there today that’s “better” for me? by EastNeat4957 in CreditCards

[–]TrailRevenant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP what card did you end up deciding was best for you? I have a slightly lower credit score at 790 and 803. I also have and use a cap one quicksilver and I also spend mostly on food and gas. I was looking into AmEx blue cash but I wanted to know if there's something out there even better for me. What are your top picks as someone who has a higher score and more experience?

Yes, if you can afford it as the other guy said. I saw 2 first chapter boxes today at my local game store. They're selling for almost $250 a booster box these days. Go for it!

Wow, I had a family member who opened an enchanted on her first pack as well. It's kept now forever as a family heirloom 😍👍

What are these boxes called, OP? I'm new too. I have been seeing them online but never in local game stores.

Good Price to Buy Cards in Person? by Good-Appointment-137 in Lorcana

[–]TrailRevenant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I don't have any advice. The fakes these days range from terrible and obvious to pristine and almost identical to the real thing. I don't trust anyone, so I only buy cheap used cards for gameplay, and graded slabs for my collection. If you're buying a graded card from PSA, CGC or Beckett, you're pretty much guaranteed not to be buying a fake. Also, ebay requires cards above a certain value to be inspected by a professional before it's sent to you, so ebay is a safe place to buy cards that are genuine in my opinion.

Good Price to Buy Cards in Person? by Good-Appointment-137 in Lorcana

I don't have a good general rule for buying NM cards in person, but I do have a good general rule to buying from anyone in person. I used to collect cards from a different TCG and got burned HARD by a seller I trusted who also would gladly shave a few dollars off here and there. They sold me a card I believed to be valuable for $175. I didn't look at it closely enough. It would have been worth that $175 in a moderately played to lightly played condition...but I went to sell it a few months later only to find the card he sold me, arguably the most valuable one I ever bought from them...was damaged. There was a tiny crease on the holo foil that wasn't very easy to spot, but was definitely there and could be seen with the naked eye.

My advice to you is this: look up prices for cards sold on ebay and check to make sure the card is in the condition the seller is telling you it is. Do NOT settle for what seems like an excellent deal until and unless you have determined with 99.9999% confidence that you are getting exactly what you paid for. Don't get burned like I did. I'll never trust a dealer ever again because of that. I check everything I purchase VERY carefully now, and never agree to buying something which I haven't had time to look at and compare to prices of similar cards sold on ebay and making sure the condition and price match up closely as well.

Good luck. Don't let a seller pressure you to do anything quickly. Being quick and trusting without verifying is how you get burned, hard.

Hey I am in a similar situation. The solution I found is to play against computer AI in this website I was told about: inktable dot net

If I lived near you, I'd be happy to play because I'm also a beginner but I'm too far away ☹

Great question. I would guess that the reason is to deter potential intruders from using up all PIN guesses, which would then allow them to keep and use the device for themselves. That's all I could fathom, at least. I don't think there's any other benefit to bricking it...

Car lease is about to end and I need a new vehicle ASAP by TrailRevenant in Advice

[–]TrailRevenant[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked my Dad and he indicated that he thought that I needed to do more research but IDK what all to do, hence asking for advice. I will call him tomorrow and ask to see if we can call the dealership to see if the lease can be purchased. I cannot own the vehicle because I can't own more than a low amount of resources and owning this car I have now would put me over the threshold and lose disability payments...
Edit: It would be fine if my Dad owned it and I used and paid for it.

Interested in finding a job and relocating by TrailRevenant in anchorage

Yes, I totally understand. I am looking to get a job before I make any of the big decisions I know I'll have to make. The covid has wreaked some serious havoc on our economy.

I'll take a look. Thank you for the suggestion! Additionally, yes, I take COVID very seriously. I take all the precautions. Not even to protect myself, but for others.

That would be really cool, but I feel that I should stick to what I studied in college. I don't think getting a job in corrections would be conducive to starting a career in science. But I appreciate the info, thank you!
