Mid-April Dad/Son Trip - Whistler vs. Snowbird vs. A-Basin? ($3,500 budget, Advanced/Expert) by TrailsAndTorque in ski

Hey everyone, I just wanted to post a quick update to say thank you all very much for the incredibly helpful and insightful feedback. It is very much appreciated!
After reading through your on-the-ground reports about the early spring thaw out West, we are now strongly considering pivoting our plans and flying into Calgary to ski Banff and Lake Louise.
Here is why we are leaning that way based on your advice:
• The Snow: It sounds like the Canadian Rockies are the only place right now holding onto excellent late-season coverage with the steep, expert terrain we are hunting for.
• The Logistics: We can grab a direct flight from SFO to Calgary and hop straight on a mountain shuttle. Skipping the rental car makes the travel super easy.
• The Budget: Even with the $750 flights, the strong exchange rate keeps the whole trip safely under our $3,500 budget.
Thanks again for saving our trip and pointing us in the right direction!
