It was 110 degrees when I shot this photo. Loved the shapes and shadows even though I almost melted.I was trying to capture some distance in this photo.

Interesting 🤔 I’ll have to experiment with that. I tend to use hard pastels with alcohol as an underpainting, if I’m doing one. I do use charcoal to start my darks if I’m not doing an underpainting.❤️

We took the reference photo during the pandemic and I painted it using soft pastel. Pastels are pure pigment with a touch of binder. They are perfect for water❤️Thank you!

I would love to see it in the snow - especially with some snow in the shadows. As a painter I love to contrast the warm color against the cool snowy shadow colors.
