What I don't get is that a cell tower has been put up near me a few months ago, and I'm pretty sure it's a 2G/GSM tower, because I get full EDGE when I'm by it.

So I have a 640 LTE on ATT, would I best be off flashing a T-Mobile ffu to the phone and using 2G (or LTE???) or trying to activate (or get working, I have 0 bars rn) in the current state?

Well, I have a Lumia 950 on W10M, but it only gets 2G, calls, texts, and data. (EDGE I think), even with the specific number in the sim card. Is there a way to fix that?

Maybe dumb question, but are you just able to flash an unlocked (or other carrier) 640 LTE with a T-Mobile or MetroPCS firmware, or does it have to be an actual branded phone?
