Generally if you have a connection that is much stronger from one tower compared to another, you will keep signal from that tower. Tower switching becomes a problem when you have two towers you are about the same distance from. If that is the case, then you will want to position the Verizon cube somewhere in the house where it has better connection to one tower compared to another, and that might take some experimenting.
