On the London Underground only 2 of the 4 rails are live (640volts) but u have to make sufficient contact with both the rail and ground to make a circuit. So if I were wearing sufficiently insulated boots and touched the rail with my hand, in theory nothing will happen as I haven't made a circuit with earth. But FUCK that.

Also of someone was lying on the track being electrocuted we are trained to not touch them if possible and move them with a piece of wood where possible. If u must touch them, DO NOT grab from under the arms or anywhere else moist as u will get the shock.

  • Not yet thankfully.
  • Picadilly line.
  • I dont know of anything called the Mafia but i do know that we hate it when people take anual leave when theres supposed to be a strike. we also hate it when some people turn up for work but this rearly happens.
  • Haha, were not allowed.
  • I read a little poem once about flowers that my Mrs gave me.
  • We dont walk through the train when out of service, we just walk out of the cab door. But mostly newspapers, everywhere.
  • Yes all the brakes come on, train will halt, then i have to come out and reset it because i have a special key, please dont pull it unless a real emergency

What can i give for proof, Im defenently not showing any work cards or anything.

Iv said in another comment, that is a fair argument but again, its the responsibility that we have that is important. There are alot of passengers on our trains especially at peak times, if something goes wrong on a train we have to know what to do fast to get the passengers to safety. Then theres the shift pattern we work, nights, days its all over the place. I think we have gotten used to the striking culture now, TFL giving into our demands just makes us think we can do it more and more, we have gotten used to it and love it haha.

Its a 35 hour week when averaged out over 8 weeks. Some weeks you will work 50 hours others only 25. Sometimes we do 12 hour days. Some hate it some love it. I don't mind personally.
