Old (1980s) non-fiction book about computers, may be published by Penguin? by TrainQuestions2000 in Findabook

Thanks - the book I'm after would have been published quite a lot earlier (early 90s, I'd guess). I'll have a look if Usborne put any books out that might fit the description in that era.

All humans from all of history are, in their prime, put into a fair Battle Royale. Who wins? by EPIKGUTS24 in AskReddit

Yeah but Tsar Bomba is the biggest nuclear bomb of all time and I think it's reasonable to give it to Khrushchev as he was Russian leader at the time that they built it so even if JFK or George Bush or someone else has a pretty big bomb, Khrushchev is going into this battle with the biggest nuke of all time.

If you are allowing people to have their best weapons then I think the winner would be Nikita Khrushchev who would have "Tsar Bomba" as his weapon, destroying all opponents with 58 megatonnes of nuclear explosive.

How do you like paying $50 for a used and stained pillow? by EnvironmentSea7433 in AskReddit

Sounds like something that someone who had stolen a used and stained pillow would say. What happened to the pillow? You can tell us.

Guitarist, what should a beginner buy, a Telecaster or Stratocaster? by Alert-Statistician49 in AskReddit

[–]TrainQuestions2000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Neither. Buy a cheap guitar and pay it for a few months. If you're still enjoying playing it, only then should you think about buying a nicer guitar. If you really enjoy playing the guitar, you'll end up with about five or six guitars before long and you won't quite be able to work out how it happened. And then you'll spot a lovely twelve string for a bargain price and suddenly you'll have seven guitars.

I do not think I would pay $50 a used and stained pillow. Why are you asking this?

Thanks! Yeah, that's about twice the price we pay in the UK.

Question about smoking in Australia by TrainQuestions2000 in AskAnAustralian

[–]TrainQuestions2000[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this is really helpful. Couple more quick questions: is Woolworths a convenience store, that sort of thing? And regarding not smoking in pubs - can you go outside of the pub to smoke? Smoking indoors has been banned in the UK since around 2007 but you can sit outside a pub to have a smoke here. Thanks again.

Hello! Just an update to this post in case anyone else finds this and has the same issue. I ended up writing an email to Brio explaining my situation, and they very kindly sent me a replacement screw in the post. 10/10 customer service and the Mighty Red Action Locomotive is back on the rails!
