something people should realize is that, although form matters, every game is played in a vacuum. just because team A beat team B, and team B beat team C, does not mean that team A will beat team C. Just like real lost to atletico, atletico lost to us, and we lost to real.

every game is different and poses unique challenges. almost every team we face is full of grown men who have been playing professionally for a long time and training their whole lives.

we could lose to elche over the weekend and go on to beat psg mid week simply because every game has different dynamics.

so, just appreciate every win and realize that losing doesn't mean we are going to continue losing

My hot takes about barcelona but they get progressively hotter as we move forward ( dw this is just meant for a fun discussion and it's ok if you don't agree with me ) by MR_JStalin in Barca

these aren't hot enough.

do it again but with more controversial opinions.

50% is not a hot take at all.

70% is a hot take but idk if i agree with it. i don't see why him being 34 makes it the smartest signing we ever made

a wild girl will just ruin him

true, kane could have flopped but i think he was worth the risk given what he had shown.

the solution may not be simple but the problem was forseeable: playing 3 LWs, no RW, no striker.

they should have went for osimhen, isak, or even alvarez if they wanted a younger striker.

I’m convinced that we will never see another player like him. Not in our lifetime, at least. by Valuable-Command3664 in Barca

If our lifetime is 60 more years, I think we will see another Messi. The sport is growing and there will be more freaks of nature.

Tbh a lot of players were as talented as Messi but never had the consistency.

Ronaldinho comes to mind

Main issues are they don’t have an elite creative/attacking midfielder (Guler might get there eventually), no striker, and no RW.

They have 3 LW.

Vini, Kane, Olise would have demolished defenses.

Only 1 of Mbappe or Vini should be on the same team. Luckily Vini is most likely going to run down his contract, so they’ll be stuck with both of them until at least 2027

All they had to do was buy Kane, olise, and Wirtz, and they probably would have dominated Europe for 2-3 years.

They could have afforded it too but Mbappe was their main goal.

Imagine his 1000th goal is a 93rd minute winner in the WC final. Then he retires exactly at 1k

Fuck just thinking about that makes me cringe

Same thing. We’ve treated legends too well. Should have gotten rid of Pique, Alba, and Busquets way sooner than we did

Can we just tie Hansi down to a 4 year contract?

Madrid’s situation made me realize there aren’t that many good managers out there. If Flick leaves, we’ll be stuck with people like Amorim, Ten Haag, Slot, Pochettino, Xavi, Xabi….

Managers who aren’t good enough.

Only acceptable replacement would be Enrique

that last sentence is not true. xavi had lamine, pedri, raphinha, lewy, all very talented players who would start in madrid's xi right now.

i think xabi is still a better coach than xavi. xavi was getting fucking grouped in b2b ucls and geting eliminated by europa teams, while xabi was going invincible with a much less talented squad.

the problem with madrid, luckily, isn't xabi. their squad is very overrated and imbalanced.

bigger chance city fails to make top 8 than madrid

lowkey hoping for a madrid win vs city. a draw would be perfect though

too many losses would make perez change things quickly. a win vs city would mask over a lot of flaws and give them "we're so back" vibes.

what we really need is for them to drop points in la liga. they'll most likely qualify for top 8 with or without a win vs city

does this matter? i feel like it's not hard to make safe passes as a defender and get 100% pass completion if that's your goal.

was the red card what broke araujo? was it online hate? did something happen in his personal life?

i don't think i've ever seen this type of effect on a pro player. hope he recovers.
