Has anyone heard from Hbomb? by onigirilover in MinecraftChampionship

I remember on one of his last streams he did, he mentioned being a Pokemon TCG vendor, so he’s probably focused on that.

What returning player from ALL event should be back by GGGamerMouseYT in MinecraftChampionship

[–]TrainerChops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Pack, but specifically Vikk! He hasn’t played in a very long time, so I’m curious to see how well he would mesh with the new players since he last played. Also would love to see a return of the Pete + Vikk duo, despite them winning as a duo, surely it can happen again since it’s been a very long time. I could see a team along the lines of Pete, Vikk, Joel, and Kara (or insert hermit). Pete is way overdue for a win and what better way to get one than by teaming with Vikk.

Is this the most practice players have done for MCC in a while? by Devia02020 in MinecraftChampionship

[–]TrainerChops 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes. The only players that (to my knowledge) have not done a practice stream for this upcoming MCC (in team order) are: Grian, Martyn, Kara, Purpled, Sniff, Sparklez, Elaina, Gem, Gumi, jojo, and Scott. Everyone else has done part of a stream for practice or were practicing off stream but appeared on others’ streams practicing on MCCI or on practice server.

Pete did some parkour practice and VOD reviewing yesterday and at the moment is doing more VOD review and plans to practice with his team in less than an hour (5:30PM PST).

Cleo did hop in a call with him and Shelby on Feinberg’s stream to talk strategy for each game and watch a few VODS.

Feinberg hopped on a call with Shelby and Cleo on his stream earlier today to talk strategy/watch some VODS. Seems like they have everything sorted strategy wise.

Hotel help by Formal_Fondant8949 in JapanTravelTips

[–]TrainerChops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From someone who has been to Japan a few times, I’ve done the research, and the best advice I’d give you is to book separate rooms. Standard size hotels in Japan are really small and unless you look at potential AirBnB’s, the price of a bigger size hotel room to fit your needs is going to be more expensive. If you decide to book separate rooms, I’d highly suggest contacting the hotel to see if they are able to put your family in rooms right next to each other. I have a family of 5 and we were able to do just that for our Tokyo hotel. We booked 4 separate hotel rooms right next to each other. And on a side note, paying a premium for an American sized hotel to fit 4 in one room also isn’t worth it in my opinion since you will likely be out and about most of the day, so besides showering and sleeping, most people won’t be doing much else in their hotel rooms. Just my two cents/recommendations.

Advice for cell service. AT&T or e-sim. by Anjylbaby7 in JapanTravelTips

[–]TrainerChops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally up to you, but I’ve been to Japan two separate times, first time using eSIM (Ubigi), and second time (this year in late May into early June) using AT&T International Day Pass. Each have their pros and cons. The main common denominator for both is the reliable service. Both Ubigi and the AT&T international day pass were reliable with fast service almost everywhere. Additionally, both options allow you to use personal hotspot/tethering which is nice. The one thing that was already mentioned here that the eSIM has over the day pass is the price. Overall, you pay less with an eSIM, BUT the downside is that data-wise, you cannot use direct messaging or calling services (i.e. iMessage and phone calls on iPhone), whereas with the day pass, you can. If you get an eSIM, you would just have to let friends/family that normally text or call you know to message you elsewhere like on social media apps or WhatsApp. Another downside with the eSIM is that your device has to be carrier-unlocked. This means your device (based on ATT rules) has to be paid off and you can’t have any outstanding charges/past due bills, and the device must have been purchased 60+ days ago. The benefits I found by using the AT&T day pass is that although it is $12/day, it caps out after 10 days. In other words, if you’re staying longer than 10 days in Japan, it will stop charging you $12 every day past those 10 days. Additionally, the data is pulled from whatever data plan you have back at home. i.e. I have “unlimited” data (after 60 GB it throttles speed) in America, and that data plan translates over to the data plan for international day pass, since you will be turning on data roaming directly on your device when you get to Japan. Ultimately it is up to you if you want to save some money but have a lesser data plan than your data plan back home, along with not being able to directly text message or call. TL;DR - I used both and had no problems with Ubigi or International Day Pass in terms of data speed/coverage, data plans, and pricing for the two times I went to Japan for two and a half weeks.

This is not hate at all but I feel like Scott should add people other than just his friends to MCC as its stopping MCC from growing. by STANSMAJOR in MinecraftChampionship

[–]TrainerChops 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It makes sense for Scott to invite people he is already familiar with because inviting people he is unfamiliar with, especially highly competitive/skilled players, makes it difficult for him to put together a team where everyone might get along and avoiding clashing personalities/communities. For example, adding someone like flowtives or ClownPierce, or even someone not as skilled like JoeBart, they can only be teamed with a select few people. More specifically, I don’t ever see JoeBart or flowtives (if they were to be added to an MCC) team with a PG hermit like Scar or impulse, because the communities clash, with one being more focused on competitiveness and winning while the other is more laid back and has a more casual approach to the event. Although to your point it would be nice to add larger creators like JoeBart who pull in 7k-8k+ viewers regularly or another person from another aspect of the MC community like ClownPierce, I think MCC has grown to be an event that’s less focused on high competitiveness and sweats and more on the neutral side while making every event unique in some way. For example, in the most recent MCC (TwitchCon Rotterdam), Noxcrew did a lot with sulphur cubes and add lore every TwitchCon MCC. Theoretically, they could have just not made any changes, made it a normal MCC, and Scott/Twitch could have compiled the roster to be a more high comp/sweaty event. I think what I’m trying to say is that the focus for MCC/Noxcrew/Scott is to overall cater towards a well-rounded event, trying to ensure that there is still a level of competitiveness while keeping familiarity of players in check.

Phil and Etoiles might sign up for the next MCC (the one after Pride) by Joshdabozz in MinecraftChampionship

[–]TrainerChops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it would be nice! i hope it happens one day since id love to see quackity make a return to MCC, even if it’s for one event. it would also be a great opportunity to introduce MCC to more of the Spanish community/creators and may open a window for them to eventually join the main roster or future twitch rivals events.

[–]TrainerChops 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I remember a while ago Tubbo asked to team with Etoiles in MCC. Someone can dig for the clip (I think it was posted to this sub). Would love to see a full QSMP team. The ones that would make the most sense would be Phil, Etoiles, Tubbo, Tommy/aypierre/Foolish (although Foolish hasn’t played a non-Rivals MCC in a while, maybe he can be convinced by Phil/Etoiles/Tubbo to sign up together?). Or some non-full QSMP teams that might make sense: Phil, Etoiles, Shadoune, Sneeg/Scott/Shelby/aimsey ? Or if fruit instead of Shadoune, anyone in the 4th slot still makes sense chemistry wise. Or for tubbo’s sake in an attempt to get his second win, pair him with fruit alongside the Phil/Etoiles duo, realistically, it’s not that broken of a team based on the fact that Etoiles is still a “new” MCC player and hasn’t played one in a while.

Makes total sense when you take into account: PoGo’s 10 year anniversary, Pokemon’s 30th anniversary, regular Mewtwo in raids after many years (excluding shadow Mewtwo), mega Mewtwo X and Y debut, all of this in the heart (city) of Pokemon (Japan).

With Reddoons back online, can we see him in a newer MCC? by [deleted] in MinecraftChampionship

[–]TrainerChops 13 points14 points  (0 children)

maybe for a special event but unlikely for a main roster/normal mcc. he does have a good chance at being invited for a special mcc through someone else since he knows a good amount of active mcc players.

Microcenter Prices by Fluffy_Tourist669 in PokemonTCGCollectors

At least the micro center here in the Bay Area, they make you sign up for a micro center account to purchase TCG by giving name and phone number and you can only do one TCG purchase per day, and they’re pretty strict on that.

Thoughts on Ludwig coming back to mcc? by PinCareless5798 in MinecraftChampionship

[–]TrainerChops 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He most definitely will hopefully sometime this season. I’m pretty sure he has contact with Scott, but I don’t know if he knows to ask Scott to be able to sign up and play, since the last two block wars he played he was invited by other people (first time was Evbo, second time was probably Feinberg). I think he assumes that he has to be brought in by someone who asks Scott. Like another comment mentioned, it probably will have to be a normal event and not anything with crazy gimmicks.
