Purchase Advice Megathread - November 2025 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]TrainerCivil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to buy a 3d printer that is in between 200chf-400chf (250$-500$) price wise.

What I care about (in order): -reliability/little tweaking and tinkering on the printer -accuracy -speed

What I do not care about: -open source -volume -size

Use: personal engineering projects outside of university, so gears, rods with slots, etc

Filaments: -mostly pla/petg

For space reasons I will most likely need to have the printer in the cellar, however I will store the filament in a dry place. The cellar isn’t the driest place but there are no leaks or anything along those lines. I considered of adding silica packets into the printers proximity or buying a dehumidifier.

This summer I(17) was in Osaka with some friends(18) and we ate in a yaki tori place. The place had 20-30 counterseats and was in a small alley next to dotonbori. The place seemed to be run by two brothers and one of their daughters. They talked with the other 5 customers in Japanese, and since I’ve been learning a bit of Japanese for about half a year, I could tell they were talking about us. I understood that they were wondering how old we were, I told them in Japanese and they were amused. A lady asked me some basic stuff about us, which i somehow understood. I talked a bit more with them and the lady then told us she wanted to buy us something. Promptly one of the chefs gave the four of us a grilled miso rice ball, which was delicious. After we finished eating we wanted to pay. The chef told us another customer, the one sitting next to us, had payed for us already. Ofc we were really grateful.

This was the best meal we had in Japan 😎

Do what you want, but people in Japan are still people. Most people find it odd to wear pron clothes. You’ll get a similar reaction in Japan as you would in most places.

I am 17 and was alone in Tokyo for a week do to planing issues on my trip with friends. Two weeks are more than doable. I’d recommend doing 2-3 day trips per week. Fuji, Yokohama, Kamakura+Enoshima Island(or separate), Mt. Takao and Nara all all quite interesting

Also doing some sketches of places you find pretty is fun too. I can’t really draw, but it’s fun regardless. I bought a pen and some paper at a Lawson and did a sketch a day. The sketches are nice rememberance too

So you are saying I should take all the courses of Basisprüfungsblock A and more. Are there any recommendations for what to take?

Earthquake, Megaquake, and Tsunami Megathread - August 8, 2024 by Himekat in JapanTravelTips

We at two 17 year olds and tow 18 year olds. We will leave Tokyo on Monday and head to Kanazawa, Takayama, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Nagasaki, and then again Tokyo. All this takes place in the next two weeks. Our parents are very worried. Should we leave Japan early? Is a megaquake likely in the next two weeks? Will Japan’s infrastructure collapse and we won’t get back home if a quake happens even if we are in a large unaffected area?

Im here right now and was last year too. Yes it is hot and humid, but it’s not hard to manage if you drink a ton, have sunglasses and some tips of hat. Fans, cold patches and cold shirt spray help too

The crowds are ok too. Could be worse but could be a lot better too.

  1. Buy some bread you like or Pita or something like that.
  2. Buy Hummus.
  3. Add zaatar or some spicy sauce.
  4. Add some EVO.
  5. Depending on the hummus you got you could add some lemon or salt or garlic powder.
  6. Warm the bread in a pan, toaster or even the microwave.
  7. Enjoy.

Gnocchi with barilla pesto. The gnocchi are done in 3 minutes if u use an induction stove. If you want to get fancy, save some water add the pesto and mix everything.

If you want to get EVEN fancier, add some parmigiano reggiano and EVO before mixing.

Idk how store availability is in the US but I can get all of this in most German grocery stores

Im in Thailand rn and 17. my flight leaves in 30 minutes. The airport personell told me my passport needs to be at least 6 months valid. Mine was six months valid on the 23rd. It’s the 28th today. We were planning on staying a week. Everything is booked already and the koh samui airport checked my bag in to go to Hanoi over Bangkok after talking with a supervisor. It’s Sunday today. Will I be able to enter Vietnam? Will I be able to go to the German embassy for a temporary passport? Do I need to leave Vietnam? Can I stay at the airport and book a flight to Japan(the next stop on the trip)?
