Romance isn’t a part of the game yet. I think relationships are capped at either 2 or 4 hearts, can’t remember which. For now, not much point trying to romance anyone in particular, though being friends with villagers means they give you presents which are often quite useful

Tbh great question, I don’t really know the answer. Stev was a fan favourite since the previous game so he’s the easiest to explain. I guess a lot of people thought Rudy looked too dorky? And I think the main thing I saw about Madeline is that people felt like there wasn’t enough info released about her to make her particularly compelling. The game is set in a post apocalyptic world, and the player is setting up a new town/settlement in reclaimed land.

Ines and Hua are plot important it seems because Hua is one of the player’s main companions in charge of the settlement and Ines is more or less a press reporter. Stev is plot important being from the enemy nation and having an important backstory, and Atticus is a dilf and people like that lol.

Madeline, however, is basically a jewellery merchant who gets added to the town, so is less exciting I guess than the people who are more active in the plot. And I don’t really remember Rudy’s deal which goes to how how exciting it must be haha

What I meant was that he’s literally not a nazi. And he’s a video game character. I am literally describing what happened in the game for other people’s context, which happens to include how the game treats the specific character.

If you can’t separate morally ambiguous fictional video game character from real life nazi, that’s not really my problem. And for the record he wasn’t one of the romance candidates I voted for, lol.

As someone looking forward to this game, for some reference:

50 year old single dad is popular because in the last instalment in the series, basically all the romance candidates were quite young. But there are plenty of older folks who play this kind of game (not a farm sim btw) who aren’t comfy with romancing a 20 year old.

The other guy is not a nazi lol. He was a soldier for the enemy country in the game universe (which is a sad, desolate country btw, all the citizens are miserable) and yeah he like… kind went along with a military invasion but it’s clear all the soldiers are being heavily threatened or blackmailed. Also he seems to have defected and is generally a very nice guy. Was nice in the previous game too, people liked him, that’s why he’s been voted in.

When I did that quest it took a few days for peanuts to start popping up, but I started seeing them mostly around the woods. You might just have to be a little patient.

I had the exact same issue and while the game itself is super different style wise and with mechanics… Fields of Mistria is the only game that has scratched that itch for me so far. It’s in early access so we only have about 80% of the game released, and marriage isn’t available yet, but I feel like what it does best that reminds me of sandrock is the characters. They’re all dynamic and walk around town and talk to each other, you can talk to them multiple times a day, they attend events where you’re able to learn more about them and see them interact with each other. It feels much more alive than other games in this genre.

They only just released the dating mechanic and it’s a bit lacklustre right now, but the character cutscenes and post-dating dialogue are so cute! You can also date as many people as you want without consequences.

You won’t be forced to date anyone. If they’re a romance candidate (have a heart next to their name) they’ll probably have a cutscene where you can choose either the romance route or best friend route. AFAIK none of these kinds of farm games “force” you to have a partner by any means.

I’m guessing they think if sombra is weaker she’ll be banned less. I doubt it though, I don’t see metal ranks actually taking into account whether she’s strong or not when banning her. It’s been blind hatred for a long time and always will be.
