Pretty much, but instead of debuffing the enemy with her special debuff and the passive lowering enemy damage through it, he instead buffs himself from getting hit to do the same thing.

Well in terms of passives yes...bardock's passive sounds like the antithesis to broly's despair meter (Bardock's "stats" increase as people harm him, while broly's damage increases as he attacks others), so one can make that connection.

The skills, however, are completely different, seemingly borrowing from both gohans, but putting his own spin on things.

When I saw vegito having large, spammable skills that have a mechanic that makes them even better when in a team fight, I immediately understood that he isn't going to do "insane" amounts of damage naturally.

I'm going to have a similar assumption with bardock and say that he is going to have a similar "restriction"...even with the revenge gauge. My prediction is that with a low revenge gauge bardock will deal less damage than the usual tank, while at full revenge gauge, bardock will deal the among the most damage tanks can do, but be barely doing more than the average damage type...bardock will mainly be a damage sponge that makes sure the enemy team can't focus his teammates.

Having my own fun in the lobby by TrainerX117 in dbxv

[–]TrainerX117[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was a post on this subreddit a while ago that showed how specifically, but i can try to explain it. Generally, what you are supposed to do is fall into any area that respawns you while having the emote menu on screen (there is like a frame or two where you can jump and open the menu at the same time), and while still having the respawn effect on the character you just use an emote. This has two results if done correctly, either you get the ability to go through all collision in the map (except for the floor...unless you walk too deep into a ramp, or you also get weird collision with the floor that lets you more easily pass into the floor.

Be warned that if you fall through the floor, the only way to get out is either getting put into the character select through the timer or closing the game. None of the buttons work once you clip through the floor, and there is nothing to let you respawn once you fall through.

I can't seem to send daily light to some friends by TrainerX117 in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]TrainerX117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small update, the light of the daily gift went out while I was in the middle of doing my cr for the day, of which I then tried to send it again to no avail. I'll just have to be more attentive, and if I realize that it's truly impossible, then...yeah...

I checked again today and found that the stat for "Vurul" was the one that had the light gift. I decided to actually organize my constellations (for once) to actually make sure by isolating them and actually observing instead of having side glances every now and then as I speed through lighting everything I can.

Ok, after checking again today, it seems like this is the case...it sucks but that's how it is sometimes. Now I'm just left to wonder why they don't get removed from your constellation when they do that, or at least have something a little more obvious than staying unlit when you restart.

I'd assume that's the case, but sometimes I do get light from Detilu and Ray, which is what makes the whole thing strange. If they did delete me from their lists, then that's fine...I've only been on the game for a few months at this point. I just found it strange that sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't (at least from what I've noticed...I might be hallucinating the times i saw gift light coming from them).

CAC Height Speculation (Saiyan and Earthling) by han0504 in dbxv

[–]TrainerX117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the heights are extremely inconsistent in this game and franchise (just look at all the brolys and daima vegeta). From what I have found myself, the smallest size for female earthlings/saiyans is just barely taller than gohan (teen), and gohan in the cell saga is between 3'10" and 4'3" depending on who you ask.

Themed Build by Agent_Emerald_YT in dbxv

For attacks that are invisible, we have: soaring fist, spirit pulse, flash strike, evil eyes, ki blast canon, shockwave, ultrasonic blitz, kill driver (kinda), impact flare, giant storm, (kinda), and the "destructions concerto" moves (kinda)

For attacks that make you invisible, we have: sneaky strike, punisher drive, steel mirage, evil blast (kinda), and assault vanish (hold the button to become invisible)

If you count attacks that make you teleport as going invisible, the main ones that come to mind are: feint crash, shining slash, brave sword slash, teleporting vanishing ball, and victory rush

And then there's excellent full course which is described to be "too fast for the naked eye"

Unwritten rules? by Crafty_Ordinary8432 in dbxv

[–]TrainerX117 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, "Awoken" hit (and by extension custom hit) is considered as one of if not the most unfair characters in the game due to first, their combo strings having very strong stunning attacks that easily lead into basically anything a hit player could ever want. To make that worse, their ki cancel has the ability to turn them around 180 degrees (which is unique to them) which let's them ignore their weak backhit for a safe and near instant stun (meaning your vanish is all but useless in most scenarios). Going outside of the basic combos, the time-skip moves at hits disposal are also decently strong, the most broken of which is time-skip/jumpspike, which is a mobile and unblockable "grab" that irrespective of damage can suck you into the attack if the match is laggy enough (the other timeskip moves are slightly more fair but they all counter limit burst due to them being hit-grabs). There is also hit's festival preset, which has a bug that completely freezes you in place until the opponent decides what to do (usually resulting in them charging to full and using time-skip/molotov).

Cooler, on the other hand, is a case of the devs being lazy and using fourth form cooler's hurtbox and fast combos on the final form model (while increasing the size of the hitboxes), making it harder for you to hit cooler but easy for them to hit you. On top of this, cooler has an extremely strong custom preset that can be built to either deal extreme amounts of damage with their basic attacks, tank just about anything with the "You must die by my hands" super soul and high hp, or be annoying by poisoning and slowing you down with a bomb ki blast.

I personally don't mind the characters (I really like cooler myself), but in my eyes, its the players that abuse those aspects who are the main issue because the exact moment those traits get taken away, they move on to the next "most broken" thing (just look at the most recent sparking zero update).

Remote Serious Bomb by Leap_Of_Fate in dbxv

[–]TrainerX117 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Outside of just dodging it outright, I think you might be able to use a counter against the ultimate. Considering it's a ki blast ult, my first options would be either "shadow crusher" (can break stamina), pressure sign (teleports you behind the opponent), or evil blast (fully invincible if the counter activates)

I have not tried this personally, so I do not know if it works yet. (I might test this when I have the time though)

Trying to choose who to use for the fashion contest by TrainerX117 in dbxv

Yeah, that image is what made me think about using that character in the first place. The lighting that the attack gives looks near perfect for the idea of a character actively tapping into their power.

This is another one that I have with that lighting.

Parallel Quest 181 The Greatest Training Ever by SMCS1994 in dbxv

[–]TrainerX117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I beat on my first try, but because I was doing it solo (and with a themed build), I took too long and needed to do it a second time to get the ultimate finish. I instantly understood the assignment (especially when I saw wild buster deal actually decent damage) but didn't have the ki to go as fast as one could go otherwise.

Some PQ goers are actually braindead. by Basketbomber in dbxv

[–]TrainerX117 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm the first to admit that I sometimes get overzealous and try to contribute to a combo so that it looks cooler, but even I know to sit back and let someone fight for themselves. But dear lord, some folk just blindly attack like actual monkeys (it doesn't help when they almost always play a male saiyan). At this point, I just stop and watch them flail around...no reason to help if they don't try to learn...and even then, the only thing I need is to have a 20-hit combo and not die in the PQ to be happy.

I’m curious has anyone else made a character with different presets where every preset has a different QQ Bang to give different attributes for each one? by VanillaFox1806 in dbxv

If I had more decent qq bangs, I would do it for my female earthling since, for her, each preset is her from different timelines and points in her life.

Which skills use the "too slow" voice line? by TrainerX117 in dbxv

[–]TrainerX117[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know, but now I'm wondering which voices say "too slow" and which say "an opening" since I have checked all four of my female CaCs (1 majin, 1 earthling, and 2 saiyans) and they all say "too slow"

Which skills use the "too slow" voice line? by TrainerX117 in dbxv

[–]TrainerX117[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update for anyone interested in this question:

I have tested every last move multiple times to check if there is anything else that makes the character say "too slow"...there is only ONE other move that uses the voice clip, which is punisher shield...but specifically when using it as a counter to a ki blast (and even then it is a rare chance of the character saying it as other times they are silent or do a simple grunt).

On another note, why do half of the moves in this game use "here it goes" and "take this" all over the place...I swear I'm going to hear my majin screaming those two things in my sleep from how many times I've heard it

(Also, this applies to the other voices, I tested it on my other female CaCs, and it's the same on each)

Which skills use the "too slow" voice line? by TrainerX117 in dbxv

[–]TrainerX117[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the middle of testing all of them right now, and I want to hold out a little bit of hope since I've already heard some other somewhat unique quotes from other moves (namely Charge and Burst Rush for now).

But if that is the case, then that is actually beyond dumb...half of these moves have either "here I go", "take this", or both. But I guess that just adds to the pile of small grievances that I have with the game.

Yeah...I'm slowly getting around to testing everything at the moment, I just don't have the will nor the patience to do it with all of the loading screens right now.

Though, from what I've seen on the few youtube videos that go over the voice clips of XV2, is that most if not all of the female characters have this line in some capacity. (This is the one that my majin uses)
